This guy is so overrated. I have to go off on a rant about him.

Averaging nothing per carry. Fumbling at the one point in a game that costs his team.

Arizona averaged more rushing yards per game last year and better yards per carry with JJ Arrington and Marcel Shipp.

All his career he has run on a team that has never even seen 8 in the box. Opposing defenses would play pass first then run. Yet he still managed to only average above 4.5 yards per carry once in his career.

He never really breaks tackles, he is quick on cuts but is hesitant at the line. Most call it being patient but if he never had that reputation he would just be a tip toer. Even in Indianapolis he was not a short yardage back. It is a garuntee on 3rd and 1 he will get you half a yard. They would often bring in James Mungro on short yard plays.

I don't even want to hear about his oline not giving him enough for holes. Granted they could be better but that is a weak cop out, especially when he starts trouble in the club house about not getting blocking. He gets more than some backs...ahem...Ronnie Brown, Frank Gore, Lamont Jordan, Cadillac Williams, and yet he does nothing. More so I never see this guy breaking tackles for extra yards. I know he is not a power back but he doesn't have the elusive moves of the backs like Tomlinson, Dunn, Tatum Bell, Brian Westbrook and Tiki Barber.

I will give him credit for a few things. Excellent blocker, decent hands, and durable. But as far as being one of the leagues best backs he is not.

I just wish he would go down for being a sham. Nothing more than a good back with a nice package of all around skills who can not be counted on in the clutch or tough yardage situations to down anything. And definatly as a back that can never be counted on to turn a game.

i bet you think ronnie is a bust to?
Check my post history. Ronnie Brown is going to be a beast and all these people bashing him after a few games into the season behind an oline that gets him HIT in the backfield and he still gets positive yardage is amazing to see. I don't think you see my point. Brown will break one tackle per carry on average. Edge breaks Zero. (generalization)

I believe in him. I am basing my knowledge on watching James not do anything more than Thomas Jones, Brian Westbrook, Reuben Droughns, Chris Brown, Michael Pittman and much less than Tiki Barber, Curtis Martin, Marshall Faulk, Ahman Green, Fred Taylor, Priest Holmes, Warrick Dunn, Deuce McAllister, Stephen Jackson, Corey Dillon, would have done with the Colts his entire career. Those are just off the top of my head.

The fact he is not running well behind a less than perfect offense is no suprise to me when you look at how he did in THE PAST with the players he played around.

its eay to bash another guy thats not on your team...

Edge is still the real deal..he helped peyton manning win games..NO ONE can deny that...

Edge had a mistake..it happens

Edge is one of the top back in this league and as been for a while

period.

Edge has great vision, its just hard to run when the O-line collaspes as soon as you get the ball.

What makes Edge tops?

his stats look good. But his running doesnt

What I am trying to say is he has always benefited being behind a good oline, running against no more than 7 men in the box. Running against more nickel and dime packages than normal packages. Running with the threat of Manning passing over you.

Career Average 4.2

Fred Taylor Career YPC 4.5
Ahman Green Career YPC 4.6
Deuce McAllister Career YPC 4.3
Brian Westbrook Career YPC 4.6
Warrick Dunn Career YPC 4.3
Domanick Davis YPC 4.1

These are just a few examples. Now I know YPC aren't everything. But since from my experience James isn't a short yard back. I would think in this case it is a good test for him.

These are all backs that I consider to have a more than just running the ball skill set. They can at least block and catch balls (something I will admit James does well). I am just saying that I think they have all been in a less favorable condition than James in their careers (some more so than others). Yet no one would consider them one of the best backs year in year out.

Love what I read on ESPN that Brian Urlacher said to him in game.

"We know you're running. That's going to mess up your average".

Bout sums it up.
