They just drafted Julian Edelman a QB from Kent State. He had 11 games of over 100 yards rushing and he can throw. I can see it now. Oh well White will show them how it's supposed to be done.

I agree. Miami used Wildcat because of the offensive line sucked and lack of talent. We're much improved. The Wildcat is going to be used again, but not that often. Stick with the base offense. The Pats have too much talent to use the Wildcat, they don't need to do it.

The Wildcat is not a "trick play" it is a FORMATION. A formation that teams had a hard time stopping, especially the Patriots. The Ravens were really the only team that completely shut it down. Pennington had a career year and Ronnie had a Pro Bowl season. Obviously the wildcat formation is famous after we destroyed New England with it, but it is not the only thing this team does.

The pats were caught by surprise in the first matchup, but in the 2nd game in miami i think the fins widcat got, what, 12yds on 4 attempts?

expect more of the same this season as it wo't be a surprise to any team they face. they might have limited success because they do have some excellent weapons to run it, but it won't win the fins many games.

the pats did try it a few times. of course, Cassel was qb, not Brady.

Oh no! The fins had injuries?! They must have been the only team in the nfl to have to overcome such an obstacle! (Yet, somehow, they overcame those horrific injuries and ran their standard offense with the regular qb under center, moving the chains and put points on the board, all with a decimated oline? that doesn't seem logical, does it?).

In my opinion, it was due to the fact that teams had film on it and actually prepared for it prior to playing them. I'll be generous and say it was a combination of the two.

If you're right, they'll win lots of games by just running over opposing defenses with their innovative offense. If I'm right, they'll have a hard time getting yards via any wildcat formation.

They'll have some success at times, but not enough to do it more than 10%-15% of the time. If thats what their plan is for 2009, I don't expect the fins to beat out the jets for 2nd place, never mind defend their afc east title.

Wow this coming from someone who lives and dies on why the patsies were 11-5 last season... Because Gisels husband got hurt.. If you had ANY clue of how the spread offense is used keeping key personal healthy is tantamount considering the imbalanced O-L.. Don't even get me started on all the excuses of why your team regressed in 08,, not to mention them being the Giants ***** in the S-B!

You seem to be under the delusion that Miami used that formation constantly.. Quite frankly the most that the Phins EVER used the wildcat was against your patsies.. The rest of the season it was used sparangly,, but you can believe what you want to!

My guess is that if anything, Edelman is put on their practice squad for the purpose of being a scout team wildcat QB when New England has an upcoming game against the Dolphins or anyone else that might use the wildcat formation.
