I know we all knew that, but now more than ever they will be looking to hit on that pick. I think they might go Vernon Gholston, to get a young pass rushing linebacker. Also one of the top CB's or Kenny Philips would be an option too.

I wouldn't rule out them take Jake Long if he fell to them. Last night's game shows that you can only get away with playing late round/undrafted O-linemen for so long until you run into a great D-line and suddenly those players that were mediocre to start with, return to mediocrity.

Yeah if he's available they would probably take him.

I think they'll go with Gholston, Phillips or Clady. I think Jake Long's too good to be on the board still at #7.

No offense, but the Pats line is in no way mediocre. In fact they might be the best in the league. They just got their behinds handed to them last night.

I would take that more as the Giants D-line was playing lights out to the Pats O-Line is not talented.

That being said if Jake Long did fall to them the Pats could certainly take him. They might be the only team that high that could invest in a dominating right tackle.

Point taken. I think it was a combination of both. If you look at this year, the regular season games that the Pats were challenged in, it was a team with at least an above average D-line giving them the trouble. I'm not saying they're a horrible unit, I'm just saying they're going to struggle against an outstanding D-line. An infusion of 1st or 2nd round OL talent will help in that category.

I don't think it is ever a bad idea to invest in line talent...on both ends. I am a firm believer that the lines dictate the game. Before qb, rb, or cb.

You couldn't be any further from the truth about the complete makeup of the Patriots line. The Patriots is one of the top 5 o-lines in the league, and three of the 5 offensive lineman are first day picks. Notice the three most important positions on the o-line (LT & LG= protects Brady's blind side; RT the other bookend to block pass rushers) are well invested.

OT Matt Light - 2nd round draft pick
OG Logan Mankins - 1st round draft pick
C Dan Koppen - 5th round draft pick
RG Stephen Neal - undrafted FA
LT Nick Kaczur - 3rd round draft pick

I think the Commish should take away their 7th pick for videotaping the Ram's walk through. :woot:

Ummm they might suffer worse than that if it is proven that the rabbir hole goes deeper. Bellicheck may find himself out on his ear.
