I know it's a bit too early perhaps but I can't help but think about how great this team will be next year if my plan goes right. here it is:

trade S.Madison for 4th
Re-Sign L.Schulters
sign J.Peterson
sign T.Williams
sign J.Kitna

draft:

1st - J.Williams
2nd - J.Cutler
3rd - M.Stovall
4th - R.McIntosh
BPA from here on

this would give us one of the best LB cores in the NFL in Peterson, Thomas, and Crowder along with a good development LB in McIntosh, we would have a true shutdown corner in J.Williams, Jon Kitna is a good plug-in QB until Jay Cutler can learn and become a really good QB (Kitna helped teach C.Palmer). And Maurice Stovall is a good, tall WR will tons of skills who should be a big redzone threat. Thoughts?

I have a feeling after the combine Jay Cutler explodes into the 1st round.

Trade Madison for a 4th? You mean you want to get ripped off on compensation and take a big cap hit?

I have no idea what he is worth with his bad play as of late but I want him gone

2 big problems.
Madison can't gather a 4th, and Kitna isn't going anywhere.
Well, the first isn't totally important to your goal, but without Kitna we would still be stuck without a qb.

Kitna = Ferotte/Feeley/Lucas/Feidler/Sage. We don't need anymore back up QB's.

I have heard some other people say the same thing. Its not impossible. I like him alot and would love to see him in aqua and orange.

I want to get a guy like a Billy Volek, Carr, or Rivers. Let Cutler back them up for 3 years or so, see how they do.

what positions do most of the pple you mentioned play?

I'm assuming you didn't watch the game yesterday. Madison was the only person in the secondary who looked really good. He looked like the Madison of a couple of years ago. Unless they've actually played the DB position, most people don't realize exactly how difficult it is to perform well when you don't have a competent supporting cast around you in the secondary. Not stellar, just competent. A corner is a lot less apt to take a gamble and go for an interception as opposed to just making the tackle, when they can't trust the safeties and nickel DBs playing around them.

Madison's playing on an island this year and playing well.

Hell did you not see the play where he covered TWO players at once and broke up the pass. That was vintage Sam!

Anyways the start of a perfect offseason is:

Sign Nate Clements (He's burned the hell outta this team for years and we'd weaken the Bills).

Sign DT Rocky Bernard. A rotational DT with 4.5 sacks. Really peaking this year.

Trade our first and a pick next year for Philip Rivers.

With our 2nd round pick take the best LT prospect left in a deep tackle year.

That's a good start.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! At least I know I'm not the only one who noticed it.

We dont have the cap for this buddy...Peterson is gonna be demanding huge money...also Jimmy Williams is a top 10 pick for sure...We'll be picking around 10-15...i highly doubt lower then 10. Why trade Sam Madison and let a rookie corner be a starter and expect him to be great

All I know is that next year I want the best FA QB or Best Trade AND an early draft pick on a QB. The position has and still is a joke. We don't need just one QB , but two , the second being either the future , a solid backup or even value for a trade if needed.

This isn't on Saban as I can't blame him for the past disasters at the position. I do expect him to get the postion overhauled and to make it HIS most coached postion next year and forward.
