as the book evolves the theme of the tome is "one rises the highth of his incompatance"...in other words...a person may be the best there is at his position...but if you take him and promote him to the next step up the ladder or next higher position .....he is a total failure....because he is above his compatance and abilities. THINK ABOUT IT FOR A MOMENT....We know b. Percalls is one hell-of-a-coach....without a doubt......BUT....just maybe that super trait does not translate to the next step up.....GM and/or VP of Personel....which he currently holds. He's had some good (or at least been involve) draft outings to his credit....BUT he was not the boss or had final say in NYG, NE, NYJ or Cowboys.....sure....even a blind so-and-so can find a quality pick....given enuff chances. This first two rounds, today was so anti-climatic after such a turbulent season and off season one has to wonder if any member on this site could have done this draft or (dare I say)...done a much better job(maybe a trade or two OR some movement up or down). We do have a good complement of exCowboy-Special Teamers though. I sorry....beat me up if you want...but we may be makeing more of this Man above and beyound the position of Coach. He may be the Best football coach...but something less in the job he's doing for the first time.

Well, lets look at it from this perspective. We won't go 1 - 15 next year. So that is an improvement in my book. I think that what needs to be realized is that we are so bad, that everyone will have their opinion of what needs to be done to make the team better. We want to have a flashy offense and a smash mouth defense. Well, Parcells builds smash mouth football teams on both sides. I would not be upset if everyone on the team last year was gone and he started from scratch, because the team was just plain awful.

We can sit here and rationalize that this pick was bad, this was not. He is getting ex-Cowboys and whatever. The point is we were 1-15, and some College teams could have beaten us. We were a joke to watch and even the game we won was in OT. So he has a proven track record at rebuilding teams. Yes he has not made it to the super bowl in a while. But when was the last time we made it to the playoffs? Or better yet, when was the last time we even had a .500 team?

He has full authority to do whatever he feels is best to take us out of this hole that we are in. I think the three guys he got are going to be really good for us. We have a monster line now, and we have QB's that are worth thinking about now. So let's see how tomorrow goes and take it from there.
