He was an offensive consultant with the Jets all season, mostly working from home. He only started working with the team in Jersey during December.
I wouldn't call S.F. weak. Arizona was average last year too. STL sucks but they have Fisher now so they'll be 12-4 right?
When is SF and Seattle mild?
Aside from Fitzgerald, who else is a talented WR on that team?

Every team that doesn't have a top 10 QB is considering Manning especially if he's willing to take an incentive based contract.
If Peyton Manning is on the market for cheap, you consider it, you'd be an idiot not too.
If Manning is ready to play he'll go to the team of his choice.
Might as well sit back, crack open a cold one and wait for him to make up his mind.

Unfortunately there is a very big reason why he may not want to sign with us... or the green pond scum...

He is likely to want the easiest shot at a division title and playoff contention. To me that factor helps sf and seattle.

just for the record.. its not that manning owns a condo and thus should come to miami. of course he can buy a place anywhere he wants. the point of that nugget is that because he owns a place in miami, it means he obviously like to spend a bit of time here. thus he must like the city in terms of moving over places like Sf, washington or phoenix. Its not a significant bit of info, but an interesting nugget none the less and should be taken as such.

Correct, I don't find anything saying he was retained after the season. However Fat Rex maybe a fatty fat fat but hes not stupid have Moore on staff would definitely help Manning's decision.

Just to be clear on the point I made regarding the condo... All I'm trying to say is, he obviously likes to spend time here.. If he's bought a condo he obviously likes the area and would therefore be a draw for him in helping to make his decision.
I believe it doesn't matter one bit, the guy is loaded with cash and can buy a house any where he wants... IMO
z0eboy is missing the point. he can buy anywhere he wants, and he chose to buy in miami as a place he likes to go. he didn't buy a vacation place in san diego, or any other really nice area, he chose miami. so we already know he LIKES the miami area, and that's proven by the fact that he already owns a place here. we aren't saying he can't afford a place in san fransisco, we are saying that when dealing with non-football related matters, and just buying a place where he enjoys being, he chose miami.

I think people are REALLY underestimating the Washington Redskins in this thing.
1. They were $13.6 million under the 2011 salary cap and have the option to carry that room over to 2012. They've only got a $94.4 million salary cap figure for 2012 so far. If there's a $124 million salary cap as many expect, they could have $44 million in salary cap space to work with in 2012.
2. The Eagles, Cowboys and Giants are tough competition, but highly beatable. For all the Giants winning the Super Bowl, they were 9-7 during the regular season, and barely skated into the playoffs.
3. Mike Shanahan has a history with John Elway of taking an OLD quarterback that has had trouble getting over the hump and winning championships, and marrying him with a fantastic ground game that wins those championships.
4. People overestimate the "he won't play in the same division as his brother" crap. Peyton Manning's been a division rival of his brother's for 31 years. Eli now has 2 rings, one more than Peyton has. Peyton is 36 years old, he's not in "Don't Bend My Littler Brother Who Already Has Two Super Bowl Rings' Nose" mode. He's in Championship At All Cost mode.
5. And if anyone thinks Archie Manning is going to make this decision for Peyton, you are SORELY mistaken. Peyton is the star of the family, arguably the patriarch now, and he will damn well do as he pleases.
6. Being in the same division with Eli has its advantages. The marketing possibilities are fantastic. And you know ESPN/NFL Network would love playing up the countrdown to the Brother vs Brother thing twice a year.
7. Washington is a great football market. Truth be told, it might be the best in the NFL. The home crowd is plentiful, faithful, consistent and loud. And it's not really a cold weather city, truthfully.
8. People are TOO focused on what the Redskins roster looks like right now. With approximately $38 million to work with in free agency (after deducting $5 million for draft picks), not to mention the #6 overall pick, the Redskins can RE-MAKE their roster however they want, and however Peyton wants. Peyton wants Reggie Wayne? Done. It would be a no-brainer for Wayne, he would not only re-unite with Peyton, he would re-unite with good pal and former Hurricane teammate Santana Moss. Need some interior OL help? How about Carl Nicks and Jeff Saturday? Need a new tailback? How about Trent Richardson? I mean, think how much improvement $38 million as well as the #6 and #38 overall picks can do for this roster even AFTER you give Peyton $10-12 million.
9. The system fit isn't as bad as some people think. Before Indy got carried away with running essentially a college shotgun blur offense, Peyton Manning was considered the very model of a play-action quarterback. Seriously, his tape is the tape quarterbacks coaches would show young quarterbacks on how to be a play-action technician. That's essentially what the Shanahan offense is, a play-action offense. People act like just because Peyton is 36 years old, he must be Dan Marino circa 1998. That's really not the case. His feet and legs are fine, and he's in good shape. I have my misgivings about the neck and arm of course, but all I'm saying is his lower body is in perfect shape to run this system.
10. Even before making over the roster, the Skins' roster is not bad at all. They were 5-11 with Rex Grossman and John Beck at the helm. Miami's all proud of themselves for being 6-10 with Matt Moore at the helm, well I for one think Matt Moore was definitely worth AT LEAST one more win than Grossman/Beck in 2011. Washington has a good defense led by Brian Orakpo and the sensational young player Ryan Kerrigan. DeAngelo Hall and Josh Wilson are solid corners. Roy Helu showed promise and Evan Royster showed even more promise. Between those two, I think they've found the guys that fit their cutback style, especially Royster who was always a natural cutback runner. Leonard Hankerson showed a bunch of promise before getting hurt. Santana Moss is a good receiver. Fred Davis is a good tight end. Trent Williams is a good left tackle. The guy that really caught my eye on defense when he started playing was Perry Riley at inside linebacker. He's going to be a good one, like Desmond Bishop up in Green Bay. O.J. Atogwe is a solid safety. This team beat the Giants twice, with Rex Grossman at QB!
If you ask me, there's a reason Vegas has the Skins at 2-1 right now, the leaders for Peyton's services. The only question is, WILL they go for him? I don't know the answer to that, but I know Mike Shanahan can't afford another 6-10 season, whether he's got a young QB or not. He needs to win right now.

I'm not so sure Shanahan is a big selling point to Peyton. Going back to 1998 to find some positive Shanaha/Elway combination is discounting recent history. Shanahan has finished dead last his first two years in the NFC East. For the ten years following Elway's retirement the guy won the AFC West just one time. He did go to the playoffs four times in those ten years but his playof record was 1-4.
Recent Superbowl winners are QBs throwing for around 5K these days......Brees, Rodgers, and brother Eli. Other recent Superbowl winners over the last nine years can sling the rock to like Brady and Roethlisberger.
I'm not saying Shanahan is a negative but I think he is going to have to bow to Peyton's wishes on offense.....and not try to sell him on some Terrell Davis highlights from back in the day.
