I’ve been trying to do my own detective work on why Ricky retired so here we go.

1) It boils down to have crappy a coach Wannstedt is. Ricky was there for every QB school, every meeting, and every mini-camp. That sounds like a guy who’s pretty dedicated to me!

2) Chris Forester: Why would Wannstedt choose this guy, with no prior OC experience, over two other guys who have held the position before??? My guess is that he knew he could control this guy, he knew that he wouldn’t question or ask why or nothing of that sort if Forester called a certain play, and wanny said, "No, lets go conservative " . Where as two "New"guys who haven’t been around Wannstedt would question him, saying things like, "Why? if we throw deep to chambers, we nail it!, c’om on Wannstedt , i know what im doing! " Wannstedt, imo didnt want to be challenged.

-Ricky knew this, he say it with his own eyes. I remember reading an article saying that he didn’t agree with forester getting the job. Remember? He said he’d be at practice and Forester would look lost, and Ricky didn’t want to be part of an offense that is in Chaos!

3) Ricky said, "Im done playing football" "But i wouldn’t mind playin for the Raiders!!"

The Raiders, led by Norv Turner, his former OC, Norv who lets his players play. Norv who throws the ball deep, norv who knows EXACTLY what he’s doing, and doesn’t have someone in his ears saying "No, no, don’t call that play, no deep passes, just give it ricky all the time, and throw only short passes"

Well guys, these are all theories, but if you think about, fit all these pieces together, Wannstedt made Ricky retire! Sure there was the whole weed thing, but another thing about that, he’s beaten the drug test before, and i think he failed on purpose so there would be an excuse for his retirement.

Its all wanny’s fault! Ruined the bears, now the phins!

It's all ricky's fault. He wanted to smoke pot and take someone's money and not work for it. He's just a punk.

Ricky retired

Because he's a diagnosed SAD sufferer and he stopped taking his medicine and replaced it with ganga. His excuses from the moment he retired up until his last public statement suggests, this is a guy who has no passion for the game, he likes the money and the freedom it brings and if he returns, he'll most certainly pull that stunt again no matter where he's at.

2yrs from now

LeBetard: Why'd you quit again Ricky?
RW: Uhmm, I looking for Godot

LeBatard: But you had it so easy in Oakland, you were loved and doing great.
RW: yeah well, maybe I'll reconsider if they give me a raise and alow me to skip training camp. I hate training camp.yada yada yada...

The guy is lost, confused, and battling some crazy demons.

I did my own detective work as well.

1. He failed the drug test a 3rd time.

I win :D

According to my sources, there is a strong suspicion among MD mgmt that issues in Ricky's personal life was the primary cause of his retirement. In addition to the drug use, homesexuality, homophobia related intolerance among his teamates - see Junior Seau, & even a possibly HIV positive sig. other led to his retirement.
