Well the year before last we were terrible. Terrible at most starting positions... forget about depth. Last year we picked up some good free agents and had a solid draft. This year, after another solid draft, we have good players at most starting positions and a good amount of depth. I feel like the most important players are not the superstars all the time. What I love about what we are doing is picking up roll players for essentially nothing. Lou Polite comes to mind. This guy is an animal and a FOOTBALL player-- old school-like. Randy Starks.. Another guy who flew under the radar when signed. I liked him a lot because i knew he was young (like 24 when we signed him), and now he is paying dividends. Cam Wake.. No draft picks invested or players traded. We all know Cam Wake is going to be the face of our aggressive defense for years to come. Davone bess is another one of these players along with Carpenter.. This is how you build a football team! Teams like the redskins build almost solely through free agency and a little through the draft. Miami is constantly reevaluating talent.. And this reevaluation has landed us guys like Garner.. or even Sperry. Sorry for the long rant, guys.. I just am very excited. Even if we are not real contenders this year its so fun to be competitive. I love vontae so much.. One of the best pure tacklers I have ever seen at CB. I believe if we can get rid of Gibril and get a good coverage/ball hawk safety to compliment Bell and a possibily replace Porter/Crowder (even though these guys are semi productive) with younger guys with higher upside... as well as draft or sign a #1 Wr and lock up our gaping hole at NT if solia isnt the answer... we will be set. Oh and we need a pass catching t.e. I am very excited for the future... Remember when we were terrible and holding onto the idea that maybe Lemon, Feeley, Green, Etc. Were the "One" ? We got him too :) Henne

well we are on our way. the dolphins future looked really good. get a good wr in f/a draft a fs,nt, te and lb. keep building thru draft

Love your enthusiasm! Just 1 thing I don't agree with, I think we would better of getting rid of Bell and keep Wilson as a SS. This guy is very intense and solid against the run. We need a ball-hawking FS for sure (like Marion back in the day)...

True bell is a liability at times too.

They are both below average players. I can guarantee we get 2 safeties in the next offseason, probably in the draft. They draft in 2's.

mos def we have to get rid of crowder, he is not equipped to play mlb,

Oh yeah, I remember those days. I really really thought A.J. Feeley could amount into something. Oh my.......

Parcells & Co. are doing it the right way.

You have to look no further than the New York Jets to see the wrong way to build a franchise. They blew too much money to bring Ryan's boys over from Baltimore and then got all caught up in the Mark Sanchez hooplah and traded away their future. That wasn't enough apparently, since they blew some more picks to bring in Braylon "Hands of Rubber" Edwards over from Cleveland.

Now they have a bunch of overpaid players with zero chemistry and no draft picks to fix it.

And I couldn't be happier. :)

They just drafted Clemons and we have Culver who has played well this year. I'm not saying they won't draft a safety but I don't see them getting two.

Another player we can't close the book on is J Allen, it seems like he has been here forever but he's only in his 4th year and while he may never live up to being a 1st rounder that doesn't mean he can't still be a really good pro. Some players are late bloomer and I like what I've seen from him this year. Just saying maybe this staff has figured out how to take him to a different level.

It was kind of hard to read so I spaced it out a bit for you. Please next time hit the return key a few times.

Sorry. I actually am good at writing (polisci/journalism double major so I can write .. lol) . but my enter key on my computer is broken.. . doesnt work at all lol

I like the way the team is being built, though I must keep reminding myself to be patient and take the ups with the downs. You don't go from 1-15 to Super Bowl contenders overnight. Look at the Colts. 1997 they stunk, they draft Manning in 1998. It took them 9 years with him as QB to get to the Super Bowl, though they had their shots prior to that and couldn't capitalize.
I think it takes 2 more off-seasons to really fill all the holes, then year by year of constant tweaking. We really need, going into this off-season:
HIGH PRIORITY: WR, TE, NG, ILB, OLB
LOWER PRIORITY: S, 3rd/4th CB, RB, C/G depth, ILB depth, OLB depth
To nail all of these positions with players ready to play next year will be tough. Figure 2 drafts to bring them in, get them up to speed, and develop. After that, year by year, it will be like Pitt, Philly, New Engl do, adding the best players through the draft and filling in the random hole.
