The playoffs start today.

for all of us who have been discussing what scenarios we get into the playoffs with, who we need to win or lose, etc, the playoffs start today.

every game from here on out is a must win. if we win, we stay alive and keep hope alive until the next week. if we lose, we are officially done. no ifs ands and buts, bc 10-6 dosent 100% guarentee us a spot in but most likely would bc we would have beaten the, texans, jags, titans, and steelers in the process.

9-7 however, there is no chance in the world we make it. so today in my mind is our first playoff game, and if we lose, we are done for the season. so lets kick some patriots but and start our improbable run to the playoffs.

ur rite that we needed to win last week, but the thing is we still couldve lost one more game the rest of the season and possibly gotten in. people thought that even if we had lost to the pats and won the rest of our games we can get in.

now since we lost to the bills, we dont have any luxury of dropping a game. this is it. win and we survive at least one more week. lose and we can say goodbye.

if we lose today, people shouldnt even waste there time with playoff threads, scenarios on how we may get in, etc, bc we r done if we lose. i am as big of dolphin fan and an optimist as there is, but if we dont win today, im not gonna sit here and tell myself we have a chance bc we dont.

No the OP is correct the playoffs start today, last week would have been a bonus for us. Starting this week if we win out we're in, if we lose 1 we're out.....therefore the playoffs begin today.

Any Given Sunday, that's why we play the game!

It's funny, but honestly we probably can lose ONE more game and still have some kind of shot. Remember, this is a tight group . . . and we play 3 teams that are right there.

Those 6 teams are either 6-5 / 6-6 / 5-6 . . . if we lost today, but win out . . . we would be 9-7 . . . and own the tiebreak over 5 of the 6 teams. Bmore and Denver are the 2 teams where we wouldn't own the DIRECT tiebreak on, but I think we still own the tiebreak over everybody regardless.

no we r pretty much eliminated if we lose today.the 2 wc leaders right now are denver and baltimore.

denver- at kc,at ind, at phi, vs kc, vs oak. at worst they will go 9-7, but prob 10-6

baltimore- at gb, vs chi, vs det, at pitt, vs oak. at worst they are going 9-7

pitt- vs oak, at cle, vs gb, vs bal, at miami. at worst 8-8 assuming they lost to gb, baltimore and us which is not happening. they will prob beat baltimore and gb. i see them finishing at worst 10-6, but they are not even in the playoffs as of today so lets talk about the teams who r in as of now.

denver, lets say they go 9-7 just to do the best case scenarios for us, and they lost at kc, at ind and at phi. that would give them 5 confrence losses. if we were to lose today and win the rest, we would have 5 confrence losses also. tiebreaker since we didnt play head to head is common opponents. denver- 2-3[ wins vs ne and sd, losses at indy, vs pitt, and sd. now us- assuming we take ur theory and we lose today- 1-4 in the common opponents- losses vs, indy, sd, ne2x, and win vs pitt. we lose the tiebreaker to denver there.

next baltimore- lets assume ur theory they go 9-7 and there losses are to pitt and gb. thatd give them 5 confrence losses- pitt 1x,cinn 2x, ne 1x, and indy. now we would also have 5 losses in confrence.- ne 2x, bills, indy, sd. next tiebreaker is common opponents- balt- 2-3[ wins vs pitt and sd, losses vs ne, pitt, and indy. now us- 1-4[ win vs pitt, losses vs ne 2x, indy, sd.

so there u have it we lose both tiebreakers to those teams. so yes we basically have no shot of getting in with another loss, unless there is monumental collapses which isnt happening. so yes this game is a playoff game, and no we can not get in at 9-7, bc we would lose tiebreakers.
