Right now, the problem is Steve Ross. Yes, he is a billionaire in the real estate but that's not football smarts. He treats this team as a hobby. Right now, his organization's rep is a tattered rag, their are reports of dysfunction in the FO, player disenchantment with coaches. What a total mess we are. No wonder GMs, Coaches, & players shun us. Instead of focusing on the betterment of the team, he's off to London/China, NY, wherever. I fear nothing will change until Ross sells this team. He may truly care about the team but he's clearly not cut out to be an NFL owner. You get the right owner & we can get this thing turned around.

Yeah, can't see the problem going away until we have true leadership at the top.

We can expect to continue to see half-measures, plodding changes, and just plain stupid moves by this guy. He just doesn't get it...

Yes it is. And it's not because Ross is a bad person, a malicious person, or a cheap person. It's because Ross isn't a football man.

He's basically the most successful real estate developer in the world. And while that's great for our team in the sense that even with enormous debt on the stadium deal he's able to pump cash into the team, it also means that we're stuck in limbo waiting for him to figure out that Jeff Ireland was a clown and that hiring Carl Peterson's boy just because he's Carl Peterson's boy maybe isn't the best idea in the world.

thx for the enlightenment. been riding this train ad nauseam the last several years

I know its beating a dead horse but just had to vent. Frustrating when other teams can turn it around so quickly & were stuck in a 15+ yr vortex of going nowhere mighty fast.

Any billionaires out there that Ross can sell the team to who actually have a clue on how to restore the Dolphins, and want to?

heh. well he's the one piece that we can't do anything about. so... moving on...

Some of you guys don't get it.

The things that make Ross "bad" is that he is painfully inexperienced at owning a professional sports team.
Those flaws are time limited, because with each season he is going to understand the business better.

Until he does... He has to rely on people "in the know" that he trusts such as Peterson, Dungy, etc.

He is a vast upgrade over many owners.
Some simply cannot truly afford an NFL team and as a result constantly penny pinch Jerry Richardson
Some are young wealthy heirs that are actually retards like Woody Johnson
Some are downright criminals Haslam and Wylf

The best teams have smart generational or stable ownership: Rooneys, Mara's, Kraft, DeBartolo's.
Paul Allen has significant experience owning the Trailblazers before buying the Seahawks.
Bisciotti of the Ravens is made better because he has Ozzie Newsome.

It probably takes a decade to really understand how to run an NFL team. Give Ross time he will be fine. And if he is be careful what you wish for because it easily could be worse.

I'm getting close ... currently I'm only about a billion short.

I was at a fins game a couple years ago and I heard more Fergie, J Lo, and Gloria Estefan than I have ever in my life. Right there and then I knew this was a "different" fins.

Haven't been back to a game since...

So you want a an owner who people deem "bad" to make a "rash and bad" decision?

I don't care how long this takes. The draft isn't even until MAY! Has anyone ever thought that maybe he's considering someone from the Broncos or the Seahawks?

I'll give Ross ALL THE TIME HE NEEDS to make this hire.

He was RIGHT about Harbaugh regardless of how he went about it. Right about Manning too. There was more at play than him that didn't land those guys.

This hire will define him. Moreso than Philbin.

He HAS to get this right.
