We just can't get stops on D. I think it part on the players but I think Coyle is in over his head. With a good reliable D we would've won this game. Our O line does need a couple upgrades but I honestly think if you put our O with a strong D we could be a very good team. We just can't stop ANYBoDY!! We haven't been able to all year. Oh how I wish Rex would come here and fix the D. Maybe a HC in waiting type if deal. I guess I can dream
 
Any time the Jets score 37 points or Geno Smith has a perfect passer rating, you know there is something SERIOUSLY wrong
 
Fins1971 disagrees. If only the offense stayed on the field for 59 minutes the defense wouldn't have had all that pressure trying to stop a Hall of Fame QB.

Nah, we weren't winning this game. We were outplayed all game and the offense had no chance in the 2nd half. We were fortunate on the Geno fumble, the safety slipping on the Miller run and the missed field goal early on. The offense struggled mightily once Wallace was out of the game . . . I mean that was more than clear.
 
And a HC that doesn't play scared would help too. Maybe his players would half ass respect him then and pay a little harder for him.
 
You guys can attribute it to anything You want, but this defense was cut up by Geno Smith. The Wallace drama and the usual offensive line woes didn't help, but when You are letting Geno Smith burn you deep all day long like this defense did, then the team never stood a chance of winning.

Not for nothing, it's not like the Jets WRs were making great plays to bail Geno out, I mean they did on some plays, but Geno was making some pretty damn good throws and some impressive ball placement, especially on throws down the field. I know it's very fashionable to bash the guy, but the kid played pretty good football today.
 
Yep....Defense, offensive line, coaching, and Sturgis. In that order.

We need Two guards a corner and db not to mention RB, LB, and looks like we need a WR and QB in rounds 1-3. We're non stop fixing and nothing gets accomplished. I think in 6 years, all we can say is Sparano and Philbin are poor at talent evaluation and gearing a game plan to fit their players which isn't really hard to do for a coach worth keeping.

I am not even trying to take credit away from him, but when a defense is burned deep that many times by any quarterback, the consensus is that they just didn't bother to show up.
