Friends Don't Let Friends Be Bucs Fans
I love the Miami Dolphins! I was a born a Dolphin and will die a Dolphin...but I hate to see them lose and unfortunately they have been doing it a lot lately. In my simple analysis we should be 4-1 at the worst right now. And, also in my own simple analysis each time we've lost including today to those stinking Bucs...we've beat ourselves. Penalties, very stupid errors and simply not playing to our potential.
Some things that I have noticed that are killing us? Well first let's look at the offense. Gus, I love him, glad we picked him up and I would trade every Fiedler and Feeley in the world for him. But, when you go deep Gus you have got to calm down. I have seen too many TDs get blown b/c Gus has put just a tiny little bit too much on the ball. I hate seeing wide open receivers with their arms outstretched just barely missing the ball or the ball tipping off their fingers and the worst part is there is no one around them to stop them had they caught it. Now, our receivers, come on Chambers, Booker you are pro-bowlers for Christ sake, there are too many balls coming your way that you should be catching!!! I will not even mention the line. Now having said that let me tell you what I am seeing that I love about our offense. Gus, when he throws short or on a slant to the middle of the field he's got that Marino-like quick release that has the accuracy and speed to get only to his receiver. Wes Welker, all I can say is please God have Miami keep this guy around for the rest of his career! When he is not returning punts and kicks 30-40 plus yards he is usually bailing us out on 3rd and long with gorgeous catches. Ronnie Brown, despite what all those misguided Bucs fans were telling me after week 2, I knew we made the right choice taking him over Cadillac in the draft and look at them now. Mark my words, Ronnie will be the league's leading rusher/scorer very soon and he'll be doing it in the aqua and orange!
Now for the defense. That powerful, quick, talented, punishing defense. I miss them. Why, why are Taylor, Thomas, Madison, Seau and all of the other guys letting these chump players on other teams exploit them. I am so sick of seeing Miami's defense make second and third string players look like pro-bowlers. Why on third and long do we let RBs bust a 20-30 plus yard gash? Why is the secondary playing ten yards off opposing receivers so they get burned for 15+ yards on simple plays? We have got to have one of the most talented defenses in the league but they just keep letting other teams kill them. Tampa's RBs should never have left them in their dust today. And wrap somebody up for the love of God!! Stop slipping and sliding all over the place and brushing these guys with your arm or hand!! Taylor and Crowder should never have been burned behind the line today to leave the rest of the team to get burned for the score. You know the play I am talking about, I call it the nail in our coffin for today.
On both sides of the ball our biggest problem is PENALTIES, there I said it, the hated P-word! Now I am the first to scream about the mistakes refs are making. This year in general there is just way too much yellow on the field, you zebras have got to let these guys play ball. But I have seen many a dumb error kill us. Today alone two TDs that would have had us tied with the Bucs in the 4th were called back b/c of holding. I'm sorry Chambers, you now better than to have your hands up under a defenders shoulder pads in front of the ref. Welker was doing just fine and we could had another 7 if it were'nt for that smart move on your part. I don't care how he does it but Saban has got to get these guys to stop shooting themselves in the foot on penalties. From every game this year there have been 28 points from the Denver, Carolina, and Tampa games that we've cost ourselves on stupid, stupid penalties. Well I still love my Dolphins but I want to see you play to your potential, let's get it together, you are not a 2-3 team!!! You guys got any thoughts? Go Dolphins!
