look at what happened with wheeler and Ellerbe...we couldn't even drop them if we wanted to this year because of the fact that their cap hit is almost identical to their salary...we have cap room this year and I say go ahead and spend it but make sure we take the cap hit this year, and not next year as for the most part I believe this gm is a 1 and done unless he does something good for the fins...we don't want to sign alber and then if he stinks the place up, not be able to drop him because his cap hit is 10 million...

I don't think Hickey will be fired after one year as long as a big scandal doesn't hit and a top end GM isn't available. Question for everyone, if a guy like Trent Baalke becomes available, would you not be for firing Hickey? Baalke built that fricken SF team, which is fantastic.

1. Wheeler and Ellerbe contract has nothing to do with FA and everything to do with well....the contract. You can thank/blame Dawn for that one.

2. No way Hickey is 1 and done. This would look terrible on Ross and basically destroy any future chance of him landing a half decent GM. What good GM would go to a team knowing he has one year to turn the ship around or get the chop. Hickey will get his two years and if he does well, is extended.

Hickey is guaranteed to come back next season no matter what unless he himself does something terribly wrong.
