Saban has mentioned the process all year long, and how he is building for the long term. IMO here are a couple examples of just that:

Manny Wright: Sabans plan is obviously to bring him along slowly. He got a chance to play and he flashed quite a bit of talent. I mean seriously do you think zognina has as much talent and ability as manny? Not even close. In the past manny would have been thrown into the mix from the get go... the result? Manny will be very prepared and ready to go next year. He understands that he must work hard both mentally and physically. The foundation has been layed down for him to work hard and be a big contributor.

QB's: Gus is the starter for the season, this decision was made in the preseason. No flip flopping, no panic button, no slippery slope. I truely beleive that saban does not feel like sage has what it takes to lead this team, and I agree with him. I see no fire, no attitude, and while he looked good vs the bills that pass he threw up to welker in the middle quite frankly scares the **** out of me. He also threw a pick 6 that the bills dropped. As for Lemon, he joined in the middle of the "process". I beleive he will be given a fair shot at the job next season after being involved in a full training camp.

Saban is truely coaching for the long term, and beleives in the process. If this pattern stands true, I beleive cleo lemon will have a good shot at starting next year and sage/gus will be the backup. A draft pick or development guy(same thing) will be the third qb on the roster. The draft pick will be pretty far behind and have almost no chance to start... thats if I am interpreting how saban works is true.

i think Saban is not playign Sage because he knows that neither Sage(who i like) or Gus will be here next year so he is keeping with his plan stability, it also helps the offensive line gel better together this year keeping the same QB in there

That's a great post Saban2005 and I agree with you. He has a plan and I'm 100% willing to support him throughout it. Whether it takes 1, 2, or 3 years.

Good post. I think you hit it on the head. I'am not sure of Gus's cap hit next year, but I do see him here next season. I think Sage has been given chances, but he is not a #1 QB. Every player can shine at one time or another, Sage against the Bills, Fitzpatrick of the Rams and even going back in time with Damon Huard when Marino got hurt against the Patriots. There is no rush in putting Lemon in right now, let him sit and learn, (worked for Carson Palmer). I'am not saying that Cleo is the future, but he'll be given a shot sometime.

I couldn't agree more. I have enjoyed watching the systematic way Saban goes about preparing the younger guys. Some (Crowder, Daniels) were forced into the line up early, but I believe it is only because of their skill level that Saban put them in. Even if there was a glaring need I don't think Saban would stick in a player who was not prepared to produce, i.e. not dumping Lemon in the mix. I am excited about how he is handling this club and am looking forward to some great Dolphin teams in the near future.

It's been a long time since Miami had a real coach. J.J. wasn't bad, but the way he handled Dan Marino was not cool. Yes he had a couple good graft picks, but he had some bad ones too. This is more than I can say for Wanny. Wanny systematically destroyed this team. From regularly drafting poorly, to abusing players, Wanny slowly picked this team apart. Now Saban is here putting this team back together. In one season he has made a tremendous improvement. Whether it be coaches, players, or drafting, every part of this team is better than last year.

One thing that people forget is that we also have a rookie coach. With being a rookie comes making rookie mistakes. Sure there have been games that that we was out-coached, but with the exception of the Cleveland game Saban always makes halftime adjustments something the old regime never did. Saban is a winner. Everywhere he has ever coached he has been a winner. The process that he always speaks of is starting to take hold. I can't wait to see where he takes this team.

The future does look bright. Dolphins staduim hosts 2 of the next 5 Super Bowls, it would be sooooooooo sweet if the Dolphins could play for a championship in thier own home.
Somewhere, somebody put up a W-L record for a few rookie head coaches, I think Saban has a chance to make his mark on that stat.
