Id love to see the Phins could have done without all the injuries.
William Hayes, Devante Parker, Marqueise Gray, Josh Sitton, Daniel Kilgore, Albert Wilson, RT, Wake, Bobby McCain, Reshad Jones and more were all key to Miami's plans for success this year.
All have missed significant time.

But thats the NFL
Thus I 100% agree that Burke and probably Gase should be canned because winning coaches find ways to win when the team is hands down. This is where changing the scheme to fit the abilities of the healthy players we have not run a scheme based on players we thought were going to be good.

As far as players go.
McMillian has no business starting, yet we have no other replacement. (Why not run 2 backers and bring TJ McDonald down closer to LOS)

McCain has no business starting at the boundary. He should be a nickle corner. ( This is a tough spot.. but there is a few top tier corners that will be available before the deadline)

Minkah Fitzpatrick only played half the defensive snaps Thursday night and we had to watch TJ McDonald run around like a chicken with his head cutt off. (Why?)

Regardless the talent we will get back next year is what Im excited to see. Especially if we ever gets more compotent coaching staff.

We paid all that money to McCain to be the best slot corner in football. Then put him on the boundary because Tank Tanked and Lippett couldn’t get back to Pre injury form. A lot of injuries though.

QB always matter. Russell Wilson produces with a line as bad as ours...so does Deshaun Watson, Baker Mayfield.

In regards to your suggestions about position confusion on the defense. I agree 100% that we should run a base Big Nickel with Mc Donald (why was he picked up?) and Jones flexing as the hybrid, and Minkah at the FS. This puts McCain back at his natural position (slot). I have a rosier outlook on McMillan that you do, considering this is basically his rookie season with an inept DC.

I think he's trying to say the QB situation is not an excuse for Gase and co. And I agree, Gase put all of his eggs in the Tannehill basket, that was his choice. He shouldn't be given a new set of eggs now that his were all crushed.

I agree the injuries have killed this team. I honestly believe with out the proper running game gases hands are tied, and a lot has to do with injuries on the line, te, wr, and not to mention qb. burke looks worse and worse not only bc he just isn't very good but once Hayes went down our pass rush has been non existent. Burke is pulling crap out of his but and is confusing the players and they look like crap. and McCain on the out side is so stupid. smh

give me less TJ and more fitz. TJ has been horrible all year. yet the young stud plays half the snaps. so stupid

So, you believe winning coaches find a way to win? Other than BB, we really don't see coaches string together more than a season or two. So that makes a hash out of the "wisdom" about winning.

Furthermore, teams can't change their fundamental scheme mid-season because of injuries. First, because in theory, players were drafted and picked up in FA because of their fit for the teams scheme. Second, when would a team have the time to put in the new scheme? It takes the off season, and you still see FA's and draft picks struggle with how to do what is expected of them 3 or 4 games into the season before it all comes together.

While I wish Gase was a little more flexible, you are posting more wishful thinking than anything else.

I really wish that people wouldn't get ahead of themselves with Baker Mayfield. I like his future.....but check what's done in his four starts in Cleveland when teams game planned for him.

I like the Cleveland Qb situation a bit better than the Dolphins situation!

A bait and switch thread if I've ever seen one. Was sure there was going to be at least a mention of QB situation in OP.

Guess you never had the pleasure of watching a Bill Arnsbarger D.
