Dennis Dixon, oregon! This guy would have won the heisman trophy and would have gone to the national championship if it wasnt for his acl injury. Did anyone see how bad his team sucked after he got hurt? Now, he is someone miami should be looking into. a 4th round pick would put miami 5 picks into the draft. by then we would have already drafted a Left Tackle, D.E/ Linebacker, T.E., and cornerback.... quarterback should not be our number one priority in this years draft. We would have Beck, McCown, and Dixon battling for the starting job. Dixon is a more talented, extremely more talented Cleo Lemon. He is a perfect SLEEPER in this draft..

I think theres other qb's out there that will have there game translate to the nfl better than dixon. Dixon ran a nice option system but alot of the things he excelled at dont really translate to the next level. I like ainge if hes around in the mid rounds.

Ainge makes alot of dumb mistakes.. Dixon on the other hand, had what? 20 touchdowns to 4 interceptions? sounds like a great backup quarterback at least..

I'll pass on the run first, pass second, QB. He was a very good college QB, he hasnt shown he can do that consistently or in the pros imo.

Dixon is a "Vick" copycat, without the size! Our QB pick in the 2nd round should be Colt Brennan. This guy has all the skills, arm, brains, and knows how to win.Don't judge a guy on one bad bowl game! He will be the steal of the '08 draft.

Its hard not to judge him off that one bowl game . . . he played in a SYSTEM, against the WAC . . . that is 2 things not to like about him . . . not saying I wouldn't take a shot at him . . . but there is just TOO much talent in this draft, especially having 4 picks in the top 63.

QB just doesn't excite me, except for Flacco, because his size is nice and he has a CANNON arm . . . he is the only guy I would look at, and that would be in round 2 (Tho u would have to consider Brohm also if he made it to Round 2)

As for Dixon, I seen him play, he seems like a solid pocket passer . . . atleast more than Vick . . . but I don't see him as a guy to groom to be a starter in this league.

I really like chad Henne, 4 year starter, played well didn't do it in the big game till his senior year, but i like his progression

You my friend do not belong in the draft section of this site, nor do you obviously want this team to succed. Colt Brennan in the 2nd!!!!!!! round!!!!!!
are you insane he would be jumping for joy if he got picked in the freaken 6th round. small qb, played in the system, likes to brake the law, no arm strengh, not outstanding acuracy. i wouldnt sign this guy as an undrafted free agent, which he has a lot better chance of being that a 2nd round pick. this is the kind of thinking that makes us the team we have seen the last couple of seasons.
in the 4th round if he is available John David Booty-can start right away, played a pro style offense, safe qb bet, great coaching at usc, would make a great backup until he is ready if needed to come in.
personaly i like beck and i think he will be 500% better than last season and i dont think that qb is our issue, but if you are going to try on one get a pro style one

No to a QB at any round, we have needs everywhere - DE,OLB,ILB,S,CB,TE,WR,OT,OG.
To me these are more impressing needs to fill, I like Flacco too but he goes from a top 10 QB to a top 3 QB during the off-season !!! What does that mean, people who have to much time on their hands start loving things they want to see and become critical of players that have done nothing to deserve it. Flacco went from a 4th rounder to the top of the 2nd and maybe even bottom of the 1st. That's a lot of hype for a guy not even playing football just running drills. I really do believe in Beck, but I also believe you have to draft a QB every few years to develope and at worst trade for picks. I just don't this year is the right one. I'd much rather grab a guy whose stock is falling for no real reason then someone whose stock is rising because of Kiper/Mayock's babble.

 Dennis Dixon in the league :sidelol: If we played Fl St., The U, and the rest of the ACC and SEC on our schedule then yea, drafting Dixon might not be a bad idea.

Isn't this the guy who was about to ditch the draft and go play baseball?
I highly doubt Parcell and Ireland are high on him, and there are much better QB's to target in the later rounds than him.

Booty also played on a "Loaded" team with a "Loaded" coaching staff,as for Brennan having no arm strength or accuracy check the freakin' record books,or highlight reels with an "average" at best supporting cast.Thinking like YOURS has hurt this team long term, always going after the "Glory" pick or the biggest named free agent, and coughing up high draft picks in the process!!! As for Beck,I didn't see even a glimmer of stardom in this guy,he was badly out played by Cleo lemon for gods sake!!! I'm not saying he doesn't deserve more time, but he doesn't look to me to be anything more than a career back-up.(even his college career was average).

Keep in mind Kevon O'Connell,a sleeper.

Dude made a solid point about Booty. Dont try and clown him.

Booty is probably the most ready to start in the league of all the QBs in the draft. He dosent have as much potential as Ryan, but probably a slight edge over him in being ready to start. Booty wouldnt be a bad option, in fact if we dont take Ryan, Booty is the guy I want. Plus he can be had without using a 2nd rounder like these project bums who IF they ever are able to start it wont be for a couple of years.

If we pass on Ryan and Booty I want Ainge. He can be had even later.

But, really there is no sense in not taking Ryan. I mean seriously, if were gonna take a QB, why not take a ****ing QB already and get it over with. Enough bull****ting with these projects and iffy guys. Ryan is the real deal and a LOCK to be at least a solid starter with a good chance at being a great one.

Plus this draft is so deep in the first 3 rounds were almost guarenteed to get a good player at any other position we pick in rounds 2 and 3, but at QB we are not guarenteed anything in rounds 2 and 3. Maybe just more years of searching for a ****ing quarterback.

OH and P.S Colt Brennan ****ing blows and wont be worth a **** in the league. For that matter neither will Woodson, Dixon, or Flacco. Brohm and Henne are the only guys in that 2nd tier people are talking about who might be good players in the league. But, it wont be right away. That J.Johnson kid people talk about I cant really form an opinion on because Ive never really seen him play or heard much about him. My guess is he blows. Ryan/Booty/Ainge should be the options. But, since we have the first pick Ryan is really the only option because there is no sense in not taking him.
