As a retort to his deluded supporters, I submit the following obervations, some of which I've posted in several other threads regarding Daunte Culpepper.

Myself and scores of others (many who are no longer here at FH) were outraged at the Culpepper signing back before it happened months ago. I was among those who said he sucked hard and would be another in a long line of quarterback disasters.

Culpepper benefited for years in Minnesota by having the biggest o-line in football and Michael Bennet in the backfield. His stats were often inflated, not just by Moss, but by all the Vikings receivers getting great Yards After the Catch on his many crappy dump-offs (gee, we sure did see a lot of those YAC today, didn't we?). That and his regular, long bombs to Moss.

Daunte Culpepper cannot read a defense to save his life and has one of the longest releases in football. I said many times before that as soon as he got a more average offensive line - like the one he had last year - he'd be exposed. And now he has been, again.

And don't even say our line was that bad today, they pass-blocked well enough on almost every play - surely enough for a decent QB to make a read and a release.

I said after the Pitsburgh game that all I could hope for is another game that bad: throws well behind and at the feet of his receivers, bad pocket presence and a complete inability to read a complex NFL defense. At least then we can make a change to the surprisingly-good Harrington (if he's indeed as sharp as he looked in the preseason). I'd hate to have what we've been having: crappy QBs who win juuust enough (playing good games like 2 out of every 5), to stay in until the season is dead.

I said last week that I'd rather watch another game or two of this garbage now if it means I didn't have to be watching it again in Week 16 or 17.

Well, Coach?

how is 7 or 8 sacks against an undersized dline not that bad?

i guess you dont get it....sacks are not always the O line's fault.

WOW - You don't give up 7 ****ing sacks and blame it on the ****ign QB. Merge this ****ing thing with all the other fair weathered threads.

Jason Whitlock? Is that you?

I guess the blocked punt wasn't the O'Lines fault either...if CPep had engineere3d a first down they wouldn't have to punt.....

And I suppose you're impressed by his completion percentage of dump-off passes and that TD in garbage time..?

The Fins o-line payed plenty well enought to win today. That's right, Culpepper had LOADS of time on almost every passing play. He couldn't find guys open almost anywhere downfield, past 10 yards.

who said i was impressed? dont play off that the oline isnt bad.....did you watch L.J. Shelton try to block Schoebel THAT WAS HORRIBLE!

cp had plenty of time on most passing plays. He just looked like he was afraid to throw for fear of being intercepted again. He was able to make a lot of reads and still got sacked. The receivers must have been open at times. Having said that he's a veteran qb who should be able to shake off mistakes.

I only counted about 2 sacks that should have been blamed on Culpepper. With QB's that take deep drops, the plays need time to develop. Hell, if all it took was to get rid of the ball there'd be almost no sacks in the NFL period.

when he did have time he wasnt horrible...11/12 for 90 yards...yea he sucks
YAC on dumpoffs have kept Culpepper's stats inflated over the last two weeks. Perhaps you should send a gift basket to Wes Welker instead of heaping praise on DC.

he still got it there though didnt he? if he was what you say he is...he would of thrown to a bills defender because he liked the colors....c'mon man

Tailgun has nailed it and the ones disagreeing don't know football or are seriously blinded homers. And keep posting, Tailgun. I enjoy seeing your Avatar!!!!
