And its a big one. I've rewatched all three games and Tannehill struggles with this a ton every game; vision. He's not seeing the field. He has open receivers but seems to not see them at all and force the ball at covered receivers direction. And he REALLY needs to use his legs more. He doesn't scramble when needed. The vision issue is leading to sacks and end of drives. You would think that these things wouldn't be an issue in his 3rd year. I think he is feeling the pressure of "this team will go as far as I take them." .... Or this is just who he is.

That could be from the new system. Different route combinations and different reads. Tannehill played great in the 2nd half of the pats game. In Buffalo Special teams gave up 10 points and cost us a possession. If we didn't muff the punt we could of got maybe a FG. Then the last drive would've meant something. It's a team issue not just T-HILL. Don't forget the dropped passes!

The real issue is the time it takes for an offense to grasp and become comfortable with a new system. We also have 5 new lineman who had never played next to each other before this year.

If we still have the same issues after weeks 8-10, then we have a real problem. Until then there is nothing to provide a fair and accurate assessment of of our current situation.

All great points

You would think this is the situation but we just finished week 3 and almost everyone here has thrown in the Tannehill towel.

I'll say it again.... Tannehill does not see the field like he should. That has NOTHING to do with the new system. NOTHING!

I've been saying that for a long time now. Defenders come at him from right in front of him and he doesn't seem aware that they're there. Worse yet, I really don't think vision is something you can teach.

Yes it does. Part of vision is anticipation. You get used to knowing where your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th option will be when and if you get to them. In a new system you may react slightly late because your not used to the different reads and their position on the field.

Maybe he needs glasses...like Bob Griese back in the day.

Tannehill's a disaster. Period. He is a never was. It's not like he was a great QB in college and has hope. He was never an outstanding QB in college and he has never been a goof QB in the pros. He hasn't even een a QB for that lon!!! Why in the world do people think that all of a sudden one day, POOF, like magic, that the loser is ging to finally get 'it' and become a bonafide professional QB??? Come on nw, guys. He's terrible and nyone who does not see it is jst blind. Pulllllease. Bench this loser and put a rea QB in. Okay okay, let the insults pur in because I don't worship Tannehill.

Tannehill locks onto receivers. He gets tunnel vision. An open receiver will be right in front of him but he won't see it. Or he doesn't go to his check down or 2nd and 3rd option. The system isn't the problem, it's Tannehill. To me, he's lacking proper vision. The proof is in the pudding.

It's that much more magnified watching the games @ the stadium. He doesn't look comfortable, he still has problems "working" the pocket and his decision making still needs work.

I'm starting to believe more and more that these problems aren't going away soon. Ultimately, it may be that R.Tannehill is nothing more than an NFL back-up at best.

Lest we forget that Tannehill is a converted WR now playing QB in the NFL with not nearly as much experience at the position as some that enter the league. I believe that explains a lot of his struggles in the new offense and the seemingly robotic feel to his play. Whatever the outcome there are no more excuses and hopefully he figures it out soon. I also think 3 games is too little to judge him on; give him 8 or 9 and he'd bettter be improving drastically. The problem is that this team can't afford to go 2-6 if he is struggling still as too many jobs are linked to his success/failure. The one positive I can say at the moment about RT is he has all the physical tools....the mental aspect is the question and that can be trained with time that he probably no longer has.
