Sorry if I get a little long winded here but I have to in order to get this point across. After watching the Cowboys game and seeing Dez Bryant blow up on the sidelines, I think I realized what the REAL problem with this regime is... Jeff Ireland (a product of B. Parcells) has created a culture where players don't feel like they are a part of something. He's created an atmosphere where players approach the game as a Business. They are only invested in it for their own personal gains. players don't feel like it's their team, so they don't bring that passion and dedication that you need to be successful. Now let me explain. This regime does not want players with the passion of Dez Bryant. They don't want players on the team that will openly question what the hell the coaches are doing. The one's that did..... Got CUT or TRADED! B. Marshall.... Gone, the entire "Leadership Council" GONE! All the council was saying is that "Coach, this is OUR locker room, before we go getting rid of players that we feel can help us win, why not give us a chance as LEADERS and MEN, to deal with the situation internally" What did Philbin and Jeffy boy do?? Got Rid of them all. When you treat players like they are beneath you, and that they have no say so in what goes on with the team.... you create a very selfish environment. Players start playing less for the team and more for themselves. They do just enough to stay on the team an collect a paycheck but not much extra. Channing Crowder said it on the radio the other day, he said that guys were content with playing for a paycheck. They show up to all the mandatory stuff, play the game, collect their check and go home. No passion, NO sense of belonging to something greater, a team, a family. I want players like Dez Bryant on my team. Players that are man enough to go to Mike Sherman when we were very successful running the ball in one half and abandoned it in the second half and say "HEY COACH.. WTF???" I want players like T. Brady that will openly YELL at a WR for running the wrong route or dropping a pass. I WANT THOSE PLAYERS ON MY TEAM, I NEED THOSE PLAYERS ON MY TEAM. Name me one player on this current team that fits that description? Who will openly yell at a player for screwing up? Who will go to a coach on the sideline and say hey man WTH are we doing?? Tannehill wont do it, Ellerbe won't do it, Wallace won't do it, Hartline? NOPE. Maybe Richie Incognito, but I'm not sure. Until we fix this... we will never be good.

You are probably right. There is something wrong with the team and has been for a long time. It's a shame the NFL has changed and people in general have changed. No one seems to want anybody to be their boss and tell them what to do.

For contract.... Take the Miami Heat's organization. They preach TEAM, FAMILY! and the also Practice it. From Mickey Arison all the way down to the ball boy, its a FAMILY environment. Yes they are good because they have Lebron Wade and Bosh, But it's deeper than that. How are they able to lure top free agents in this greedy all about the money sports age, and get them to agree to take less money than they could get elsewhere? It's because of the environment they've created and the family value approach that they take. Look at Keith Askins, Tim Hardaway, Alonzo Mourning, and i'm sure there are others, all former players that now work for the organization. Even after hardaway had the gay slur incident, they still hired him. Most teams would have turned their backs. Spo... went from Video boy to HEAD COACH! What other organization does that? Players feel like this is their extended Family so they are willing to make the sacrifices that are asked of them. They are willing to cut their vacations short and get back to work so that they can come into camp in shape. They are willing to put in the extra practice time, film study etc... Lebron takes a kid like Maria Chalmers and stays on him like he's his little brother. (although Chalmers is about his same age) This is the example the Miami heat should be thriving for. This is how you create winners.

I don't think Coach Shula or Coach Lombardi could coach today. Players just would not put up with how tough they could be. They would revolt first.

Goes both ways. There are a good amount of players that do not give a damn about winning and only play for the money. That is why you see the Haynesworth's and Javon Walker's and Jamarcus Russell's. They play great to get that big paycheck and turn off.

I was discussing this just last night with a good friend of mine. We seriously lack leadership and FIRE. There is not one single player that I have seen on the sidelines motivating or firing up their respected entity of the team. This probably stems from the coaching staff lacking the Fire as well.
Whatever it is, I hope we can turn it around tomorrow night!

You are exactly right. We've lost 4 straight games and I've yet to see some emotion, ANY emotion from this team. If they don't come out fired up tomorrow and play their best game of the season I will be very disappointed. Which I'm used to, anyway.

Brandon Gibson played with alot of desire. He was the only one and now he's gone. Maybe Odrick and Wake but that's it.

Philbin, Sherman and a distant third Coyle for not letting the young kids in but crucifying RT into beating defenses with nothing but his brain.

I can see Sherman, "Nuh huh huh, don't scramble that's cheating. Nuh huh huh, you have to close games not the RBs. Nuh huh huh no TE's pass blocking. Nuh huh no isolation plays that's Madden."

They did the same to Egnew too, just post him in between the hash marks every play and he'll come down with it I don't care if he can't block or if he can't break tackles cause he's soft, he'll out jump DB's 10/10 and out run LB's 10/10.

IMO Egnew's been a victim of what they're doing to Tanne right now.

In a similar note for miscasting Carroll into this defense. He is not even that bad he's just expected to do something he can't, ask him to just stick to his guy and he'll run with the best, but you keep the FS so far back Carroll doesn't get help on time. At the same time we don't bring the kids in who are supposed to fit the system much better.

After that Ireland/Ross for picking a coaching staff that would pretty much require different personnel in just about every single unit on the field than the 2011 one.

Clabo and Jerry although they were given jobs and will stay at them till they get fired.

Mike Wallace for dropping balls and not even attempting to fight for them if in traffic. It seems as he can't even put his hands over the defender's if they are on him. Damn, Carroll would shut him down with his sticky press coverage. I guess they are trying to force their philosophy into him too, cause they haven't even tried to get him open deep, have him run a corner or wheel route and roll Tanne to the right like Reid does in KC and that's instant 30+ yards a pop.

Definitely Reggie, Dansby, Marshall and Bess left not because they didn't fit but because they were outspoken and we can expect Cog, Starks and maybe Pouncey to be gone at the end of the season because of the very same reason.

I don't think we have any reliable evidence to suggest that the "leadership council" was jettisoned because they questioned the coaching staff. I think there are other explanations for their departures that are just as probable, if not more.

Exhibit A: There is now a new leadership council that Joe Philbin himself initiated. If Joe Philbin didn't want players questioning him, why would he initiate the establishment of exactly what it was he didn't want?

The much more plausible explanation for why this team has faltered for so long is that it hasn't had an adequate player in the position whose play is most strongly correlated with winning in the NFL: quarterback. Until that gets solved, we can float all these various ideas, and they'll likely pale in comparison to the explanatory power of the absence of effective play at that position.

Lmao biggest overreaction I have read on FinHeaven in a long time.

I've lost faith in the regime. The WCO and the Blocking Scheme have left the QB exposed to a ton of Pressure and Hits. Too many time a rusher is coming free or the pocket is on top of the QB within 2 seconds. The defenses have blitzed the 4 WR set with regularity and have killed the QB. The 4 WR set leaves 6 or 7 rushers too 5 lineman and 1 RB and after 7 games nothing has been done to address the issues at hand. The Defense is porous and has taken a big step back from the stout front that was a staple of the defense the past several years. The edges are being collapsed with regularity, the opposing run game is keying on the smaller/lighter players in Vernon and Shelby and the hard charging Odrick has been out of position inside too often on the inside run game of the opposing teams and they have exploited his aggressiveness. The signing of Wheeler who has a severe lack of instincts for the LB position has convinced me he's a serious downgrade to either Dansby or Burnett, who have been steady with their new teams. Mike Wallace has been miscast and misused here in Miami. The Scheme is killing his Long Ball threat, but at the same time, his presence has made the offense more diverse and others are or were (Gibson) benefiting from that. Wallace had a rep for dropping passes and has continued that trend in Miami. Over all this coaching staff has been out coached in every single game since the 3-0 start. Coyle looks to be way over his head as a DC and the use of the LB's in his scheme has helped cause the down turn in the defenses performance this year. Players like Jones, Misi, Wake and Vernon have not lived up to the expectations for 2013, although Wake has been injured, he's looked disinterested on the bench the last 2 games. It's gotten to the point were I've lost interest because I don't trust the F/O or the Coaching Staff any longer. Philbin was Ross' choice and he's going to have to live with that, because it looks like Philbin and Co. aren't much better than what was in Miami before, running the show.

I think the entire franchise needs an enema...if not an exorcist. They don't talk about us on tv, they don't talk about us on the radio...it's like we don't even exist anymore.

Really? So you think it's all coincidence that every player that has been outspoken whether in the media or internally are now gone and this team has absolutely no one that would question the moves of management? This team is built in the mold of the coach and GM, it lacks character. Say what you want about Rex Ryan but he has character, and his players take on his bravado attitude. He talks and coaches as if his players are better than the other teams players, no matter who they're playing. Even when he and the rest of the world know his players are terrible. And his players play with that attitude. Even while getting their asses kicked, they still play with that Im better than you attitude. Football is a game of emotion, and it's hard to play without it. You have to have what Dez Bryant and Micheal Irvin called "That Dog" in you to be great. And I don't see anyone on this team with it. :-\ I hope some of the new players we drafted have it because if not, it's gonna be a long next 3-4 years.

You can have one or two players like that and be successful. But you can't create a culture of that mentality.

Tannehill told Rishard Matthews to "Get the **** off the field" toward the end of the Cleveland game in Week 1. People praised him for that. Now the team lacks a guy like Bryant who at first was heavily criticized for being an immature jackass this past weekend?

I'd rather the team not make the "news" b/c of guys like Bryant. I'd like his talent sure but not the yelling and carrying on which apparently signifies he's "passionate".
