I just want to try to be realistic for a moment. People are talking like our team is an elite team and should be 2-0 .
The reality is: The Patriots were 14-2 last year. Try to grasp that! We were 7-9. The Patriots are in another league as much as we hate to admit. So we arent supposed to beat the Patriots right now. We are not good enough right now. So 0-1 get over it, half the teams are 0-1 after the 1st week.

Ok, now we play the Texans. We have never beaten the Texans. We are home this time, so maybe we can pull one out. But again, realistically, with our team having a new OC, new RB's and a new mind-set, we havent really clicked on chemistry or cylinders. We know this is the Texans year to win their division. And then we run a 4 pm game and make it easier on the Texans. Im not surprised that we lost, but I would of liked it. We need to win games at home, period! But we didnt so 0-2

Now, from a homeristic point of view and thinking the Dolphins can win 9-10 games means we will lose 6-7 games. Ok, so lets play this out and say this team starts to come together starting next week

Games we can win Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City (injuries), Raiders, (4 wins)

Divisional teams, should split with Jets and Bills (2 wins)

Tough games we play Chargers, NY Giants, Washington, Dallas, Philadelphia

My thought is we can beat the Giants, Washington, Chargers and Dallas
We usually play Chargers and Dallas well, so I will take a split and say
we get better and better and we take 3 of those 5 (3 wins)

The last is can we beat the Patriots in their home the 2nd game we play
that will make the difference of the year! If we beat the patriots we can
be a 10 win team!! (1 win)

10-6

So if we go 9-7 it means either we dont split with our division rivals or
lose another game to those NFC east teams

So dont panic yet, realistically we are supposed to lose those games we
lost and at best we could of snuck one out, but we didnt!!!

it's not the fact that we're 0-2, it's the fact that in the losses (especially against the Texans), the team looked uninterested (for lack of a better word). it appeared that many players were half assing it and not giving 2 ****s about losing. sparano has lost this team...again (he already lost them in the final game against the pats last season).

and that will really play out the next 3 weeks. We absolutely need to win 2 of the next 3 games!
Cleveland, Chargers and Jets

We will have our true answer about this team then I believe. Its still a little too early to tell

We should have beat the Texans, Carpenter doesn't miss 2, and our new rookie runningback doesn't lose the ball, we win this game against the Texans. I just hope that luck ends up bouncing our way and we catch some breaks along the way.

No it isn't.

The writing is on the wall , in big letters, and it's staring you right in the face.

You need to take the homer blinders off so you can see it.

this is similar to the thread i just put up. If these 2 games were not back to back and were in the middle of the season - we would expect to lose them, but since they were back to back to open they are devastating, and there is some truth to that since it kills a teams confidence. That being said,

those were 2 of the most difficult games on the schedule, yes we have more tough ones, but also some less tough ones coming up.

also the first game our offense was good, but unbalanced - no running attack, no d. thomas etc. and our D was horrible. Against the Texans our D Was average, our running attack looked good with Thomas, but we forget to implement reggie on passing downs and commited TWO very costly turnovers.

this team has not clicked yet, once it clicks, if its within the next few weeks, we can be still in contention.

Thats fine, we were actually in both games. So thats a plus. We need ot come together really. I am not that down on this team yet. The next 3 games will tell the story I believe!

maybe so, maybe we need a locker leader or 2 to get this team together. There is talent. They just need to utilize it and get together and on board here

you dont read too well, I say a homeristic point of view in my post!

The season isn't over at 0-2, but you guys need to win the next 2 games if you want any shot at the playoffs.

While I want to agree with you I'm not sure we will see Dansby or Davis until the 3rd of these games. Those are 2 injuries that usually nag, I'd be shocked if either practice this week. That leaves us in trouble at ILB and means Nolan Carroll will continue to get on the field. Add that to the usualy mistake prone brand of football we've become accustomed to and 0-5 seems inevitable. I'm a very optimistic fan who never gives up hope but Ii'm seeing 2007 like signs.
