This is a very simple decision for Linehan. Here are the reasons why he shouldnt leave.
1. He is being highly compensated right now. I am not sure how much in relation to other OC's but I am sure he is near the top of the list.
2. Being a HC is much more then X's & O's, it is about being a leader, a coach, an executive, and a scapegoat.
3. Although I am sure his ultimate goal is to lead a team to a Super Bowl win as an HC, he has a much better shot to win a SB with the Phins then the Texans right now.
4.The Texans D is horrible (he is an offense guy) so he doesnt bring anything to help that side of the ball.
5. THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON IS NICK SABAN. Now, I am not saying Saban is Vince Lombardi or Belichek yet, but he obviously is in one of the best coaches in the game with a tremendous amount of HC experience,a consistent winner where he goes and has a great pedigree of mentors. To be able to work for Saban for a few years, possibly play for a championship in 2 to 3 years, learn how Sabans runs a "program" not just an offense, then he will have all the goods to try and step up and take the HC position where he goes.
What he needs to realize is that the only reason he is being interviewed is because there is no one else out there and there 6 vacant HC positions. I say he stays...learns while you are winning. How to draft, how to manage the salary cap, etc. because if he takes the Houston job and fails, he has no shot at every being a HC again in the NFL. NOw if he stays for a few years and is more prepared, and then he fails, then it just wasnt meant to be.
