Ok, blowing this thing up..

Cut RT after season complete. He is serviceable, but as a capable backup. Not worth the money. Take the hit

TRADE our 1st and 3rd picks in the upcoming draft for picks in the following QB heavy draft. Yeah, you expected progress without some pain?

Ante up in 2020 to pick a QB that looks like the future. No guarantees, but a “chance” to be great. Fill the cannon with powder and fire

Been a fan for a few decades now, and quite tired of the front office trying to get a QB on “the cheap”. Get serious guys, stop trying to get cute.

Watching football this week was hard, seeing franchises propel out of the ashes with young and exciting QB’s that give you a chance to win any game. Other teams are cycling, and our progress is flatlining.

All of the above can be done, it’s in our control. Gase? Even if he is kept, Burke has to go

Hoping is not a plan. We need to act with the ammunition we do have. Picks are painful when you give them up. And the upcoming draft is a defense heavy draft. But please don’t think we can have our cake and eat it too. Draft defense and pick a lower round QB to “groom”? Laughable. That’s the kind of thinking that has us in the 2-decade slump.

Will the FO have the balls? We will see....

And for anyone thinking it will be easy to get a franchise QB this year, from Bleacher Report:

“Secondly, this is just a down year. Said one scout: "You guys in the media get on us about 'next year,' but we were upfront that the quarterback class was going to be down. And that's why you see so many teams giving up the farm to get a quarterback this year. You'd rather trade up for an Allen or Rosen than bet on one of these guys." That's the reality teams are facing heading into the season. Barring a surprise, out-of-nowhere player like Mayfield rising through the ranks, it just doesn't look like a good year to need a quarterback.

Where do teams go from here? One high-ranking scout I spoke to last week was nearly giddy talking about the 2020 draft class (yes, they're already looking that far ahead). "That kid at Georgia (Jake Fromm) and the one that left (Jacob Eason) are legit dudes. They could go 1-2 and they were at the same school! Those are the ones to watch."

Fans of the Jaguars (if Blake Bortles struggles), Chargers (quarterback of the future) and Patriots (Tom Brady has to retire eventually…) might be holding their breath for another season with hopes they can get by until 2020 when maybe they'll have a shot at one of the promising quarterbacks in that class. For now, it's a major wait-and-see approach from us and from those in the NFL when looking for 2019 franchise quarterbacks.”

Well, if Herbert stays in college the draft looks meh at QB.

Still some interesting names to me in Finley, Grier and Thorson.

I agree with some of this and definitely that the team is going to need to be bold. Tough decisions are ahead for Miami. The most important making the right decisions, which is always easier said than done.

Adam Gase has proven to be swift in making player personnel decisions, but now he has to do that with the coaching staff. I 100 percent agree that Burke has to go, but not sure Gase will be able to make that move. Even Don Shula had trouble replacing coaches sticking with Tom Olividatti when he could have hired Pete Carroll.

Anyway, job #1 is getting the quarterback of the future. Your plan could work, but I'd follow the talent in this draft which looks like a fantastic year to get defensive lineman. As much as Miami needs a quarterback, the team desperately needs to rebuild the defensive line as well. The team doesn't have a defensive end who can stop the run and teams are having such an easy time getting to the edge against this defense. The defensive tackles have exceeded their draft status, but the Dolphins would be smart to add talent there as well.

Get a mid-round quarterback, sign a stopgap veteran like Bridgewater/Taylor, and then go all in for qb if necessary in 2020.

If the 2020 is potentially a great QB draft and there already has been some guys pegged to be good, is it possible to Draft a QB prospect one year early?

If so, let him remain in school or sit on the bench for 1-2 years? I think the answer is obvious as I haven't heard of this happening.

Think Tannehill is going to get 1 more year and then Gase will be fired. We need to get Bell in Miami in Free Agency. Reason why cause we need a guy like that to inspire our 2020 QB. He is awesome on screens and bell forces alot of 3rd and shorts. Plus he opens up pass plays. To me he is worth every cent. Since we ain't going to have a huge QB payment in 2020.

OL and DL in 2019 draft

I like the idea of trading a pick for another 2020 pick.

I would definitely dump Tammehill after the season. His price tag is too high for what he is capable of. I would plan on sucking for a high draft pick in 2020.

The only time I remember something like this happening was when RED AEURBACH drafted LARRY BIRD one year early to retain his rights for the Celtics. Was a great idea. No idea if this is really possible in the NFL/NCAA these days.

It doesn't happen too often from what I remember. The Patriots have done it a few times.

With how competitive the NFL is, I doubt that's something that can be done or we would've heard about it already.

If the strategy of loading up for 2020 is employed it isn't just about trading a 1st in 2019 for a 1 and 3 in 2020 it is also making sure it is to a team likely to fail in 2019 for a top 5 pick...the Cardinals, Raiders and perhaps 49ers might bite as they will be trying to add pieces through the draft next year, but not likely to have successful seasons.
