So... week one is over.. Yea I drank it up, but in reality morning came and the pain was still here.

After a great preseason where we went 3-1. Our offense marched down the field, or defense was smothering... there I was.. Yea even I started to believe.. 8-8.. vert realistic.. but maybe 9+ wins? Maybe? Did you see the way we walked all over New Orleans?

Then comes Sunday afternoon. The real #1, pitted against the real #1. The real deal. What I saw wasn't real pretty. But we are who we thought we were, before we all got drunk on it. Thats ok.. it's to be expected. I'm a fan. Thats what I do. And as such, the pain was all to deep when once again we seemed to digress. Watching the game. Chatting in the Fh chatroom, so I can share in bliss or agony the soap operatic symphony may just delight upon me. But it was not to be. Glimpses sure. We were close. But when they were throwing up prayers we couldn't even catch a cold.

Nobody said it was going to be easy. Nobody promised it would come soon. Doesn't mean it feels good anyway. and once you let it permeate.. then you get the reality check. That as promising as it may seem. We really really are.. slowly... slowly.. rebuilding.

We're going to share many more weekends like this my friends.

How true...well very well written. I drank that kool aid too thinking we could be better than everyone expected us to, but the reality is that there is still a lot of work to be done. You see, the real issue that dwells in this team, is our lack of mental composure. From Wanny to Saban to Cam Cam and now, we still commit the same stupid penalties and mental errors. In Sunday's game, we committed holding penalties to wipe out two good QB scrambles for 1st downs, we got flagged for pass interference on 3rd down, Matt Roth's silly personal foul on Favre and a host of other mental mistakes--but aside from the penalties, we just made too many of the same mental errors that have caused this franchise to reach these depths and remain here for several seasons. Wholly apart from the mental errors made on the field, our coaching staff made some as well. I do believe that this once proud franchise will once again reach the great levels of accomplishment from before, but it will take time. But in order for that to happen, we have to rid ourselves of the inability to overcome the mental aspects of the game because we still have not come up with a play for 3rd and 15.

I think we got a really good shot at winning next week though. Gimme another glass full please.

Really? I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The running game was horrible.

We lost a starting OL for the year, with no suitable replacement.

The play calling was horrible. When the Jets were stacking 8 and 9 in the box on every 1st and 2nd down, the Dolphins just ran at them anyway.

The coaching was horrible. The decision to not have Ronnie in the game on 3rd down, not activating our biggest WR, and to not have Ginn as the KR, really hurt.

Old noodle arm looked like he had a noodle arm.

The WR's couldn't get separation and couldn't run a simple under route.

The defense still can't stop a running game.

The DB's look pathetic.

The ST's were not very good.

Our punter is erratic.

We commit way too many penalties.

and on and on it goes.

Where is the light at the end of the tunnel that you are talking about?

Please "enlighten" me.

Ginn was just awesome on punt returns so where was he on kickreturns. He did let 2 maybe 3 punts bounce in front of him and the others he was brought down with the ease of tackling a 7 year old. Atleast Bess ran hard and got positive yards even if they weren't there.

Most people are crying we passed way too much and abandoned the run, now your saying we ran too much and should have passed more????? I'm really confused !!!!

The only complaint I can see is the two passes on 3rd and 4th down at the goalline. Running on 3rd down behind Jake then if they were to throw on 4th playaction would have helped. But of course this is still a load of crap because if they scored it's a mute point and they very well could have failed any other way as well.

To me the bottom line is we had a chance to win at the end of the game and we didn't execute well enough to win, next time may be a different finish and that light may become brighter and brighter.
