I think the first thing that everyone needs to realize is, despite making the playoffs in 2016, this is a team in a rebuild. We were mismanaged for over 15 years, and that doesn't get corrected in a year or two. It takes time to build a quality roster with depth, and it has to be done in the draft, and not in FA. I hope its Gase and Chris Grier that do this, but you can't judge it half way through year 2.

To win in the NFL you need a star QB. You don't bank on your head coach kissing frogs till you find a prince. We have 3 frogs, and as long as we are content with that this team will never turn around. Yes, from time to time a perfect storm happens and frog over achieves and a team has a magical season, but it is never maintained, and is always predicated with having an elite defense, and we don't have that. Long term success starts with a franchise QB, so its time to go after one in 2018. (frogs=bad QBs)

Next season Gase needs to be humble, and hire an OC who he will let be an OC. Even in our 4 victories we have been unprepared offensively. You can't pin point one problem, as our oline is horrible, our WRs lead the league in drops, our RBs are missing blitzes, and contributing very little, our QB can't communicate who to cover, and penalties have handcuffed us. When you can't pinpoint one problem it has to fall on coaching, and offense is lost, so its on Gase. You can't be the OC and head coach, as it will force you to do a half ass job at both, and we are seeing that.

The rest of the season will be a lot like what we have seen. We will occasionally over achieve, and make it interesting, but NFL teams that have bad QB and offensive line play do not have long term success.

I agree with most of what you said, however I do not think that Tannehill is a bad QB and I think he is our franchise QB...the teams that have franchise QBs in the league right now, have at least decent O lines and solid D.....we have a subpar line and our D is average and maybe good at times...it is so hard to judge a position like the QB when theres so many other variables involved that directly affect them
As for you saying you cant be the HC and call plays, tell that to Sean Payton Mike McCarthy and the rest who have won doing it.....the argument of being a HC and calling plays is moot at this point

We are a mess because we do not have a good coach. We win the odd game because we do have talent. Most predicted us to win last night. There is no excuse for the 40-0 embarrassment. We were not ready. We were not prepared. Gase is not an NFL head coach.

I tried to tell you guys all along that qb was better than people realized

From protections to coverage ids to pre to post snap reads to timing to execution and placement and toughness and willingness to stand in...

We miss the damn qb

Hell we miss Cutler, Moore is that bad and way to much hype. It's not like it would have made a difference yesterday, but maybe now people understand why Gase was smart to want this guy in the off-season. He is the 2017 Dolphins ONLY hope for any success, and he needs his boy Parker back.

Tannehill would've stunk up the joint too. Last I checked this is a team game, and if some of the team aren't doing their job, then the whole team suffers for it. We could've had Tom Brady in his prime back there last night and it wouldn't have mattered much.

40 to ZERO is beyond despicable. Thill may be the best QB choice we have but he ain't the cure alone. Sure. It would probably be better.

But 40 points to ZERO better??? No way.

There's something more profoundly wrong when you produce such a pathetic product.

The crazy thing is the team that beat the Dolphins 40-0 last night lost to the Jaguars 44-7 earlier this year. Just goes to show you that anything can happen week to week. The Ravens will probably get beat at the Titans next week. Go figure.

The boxes I’m seeing this season are the same ones San Fran tried to play vs us last year.

And they paid dearly for it. It’s too bad he got his leg rolled up into

We wouldn’t be in this mess

It is, but it's also only 1 game at the end of the day. Beating the Texans and whoever else it was with Man Campbell 1,000 - 0 didn't make our season that year, and this win won't make the Ravens season either. I could see us having 4 new starters next game, with Parker, Cutler, and Steen returning, and possibly Larsen replacing Bushrod (fingers crossed), not to mention the safety coming back soon. This season ain't over yet, Cutler is far more talented and just plain better than Matt Moore. Next week we will find out what Gase is really made of, I think we come out strong against an over-rated/over-hyped Oakland squad. Baltimore on the other hand, is severely under-rated, but probably not anymore. Dean Pees is a great coach, and with them getting healthier, they will be a force come December/January as usual.
