I mean Miami usually gets bashed by the refs but now that we r playin the steelers and Big Ben is out and Hines "Overrated" Ward is playin "hurt" so they will probably give them even more calls.

How are injuries to another team going to influence the refs to make bad calls? Think about it for a minute...do the refs get together before the game and say "Hey, let's give the Steelers a break since they are ailing. They need our help!"

We have been the victims of some bad calls in the past. But that goes for every team. We don't need to be looking for excuses before the game starts. If Miami plays mistake, turnover free football, we should win this game.

I don't know!!

yep refs screwed over Seattle hardcore. Pittsburgh has a huge nation wide fan base when Seattles is relatively small. They sure had motive to fix the game? Was it fixed, or did they just make terrible calls? We will never know.

a few bad calls........the worst of which didn't even have an effect on the game (low block call on Hasselbeck).

Other calls were questionable, but not blatant bad calls.....Jackson did push off, the Lineman (Tobeck?) did hold, and Roethlisberger was right there.....millimeters either way. I'm so sick of this crap about the Steelers getting handed the game. Get over it! (not you in particular, but the vocal minority).

I agree. I hate it when Chambers throws his hands up expects a flag every time he misses a pass. It's a loser attitude. Yes it's true that every team gets bad calls. But the bad calls that other teams get against us are usually after they have already screwed us over and they "give us a call" just to try to even things out. Look at the Chambers "no TD" catch in the endzone against the Jets a few years ago. I see OL men holding, tackling and pushing Taylor in the back and it's never called. I know the games aren't rigged but poor uneven officiating really is one of the worse things about this league. Thats why I hope it's not a close game that puts it in the hands of the refs.

I get sick and tired of people griping about the Refs. True, sometimes you get screwed, but it always evens out. It's not easy to watch 22 players on a field that size and not miss something. The Refs don't plot against anyone. Do you think the NFL would allow some part-time employees to sabotage the product on the field which creates Billions of dollars of revenue league wide.

worst thread ever!

so agreed. Ridiculous. thread.

....but you watch, the refs end up screwing us over:tantrum: .

But I don't think I've ever gone into a game hoping the refs don't screw us.
Refs are impartial morons. they will err, it's just a question of who they will err against.

i think its time people let this die. The NFL came back and said the only blown call in the sb was hasselbeck's tackle which they called him on a low block or something? ( very dumb call). But that's it- the rest were correct. You can agree or disagree, doesn't matter, its over, Steelers are the champs, move on. It's a new year now.

Anyways, lookin for one helluva game tomorrow night, good luck and hoping for no injuries on either side. :D

Wow, usually we wait until AFTER the game to complain about the refs. I think this is a new record.

Both teams played poorly that day....Seattle just played worse.

I disagree whole heartedly. It was one of the poorest officiated games I have ever seen. The offensive PI call should never have happenned. The Roethlisberger TD run was a joke, he was clearly stopped before the end zone, and of course they don't call the pretty blatant hold on willie parkers td run. These are just a few of many horriffic calls the refs made. And yes, the refs will throw flags to either keep a team in a game, or cater to a situation, as in the case of last years abortion of a superbowl. I really am worried about the refs in this game, it'd be bad for the NFL to have thier defending champs come out and get mopped up. I have my concerns. Ever since the start of Ricky's second season in Miami, and he had a 40 yd run to the goal line against the Texans in our home opener, and the refs called it back for a lame hold...we go on to lose the game, and spiral downhill into the bleakest few years in franchise history. That single bad call, set the tone for our season, and eventual demise. (well,of course other factors lead to our demise too, but that really didn't help!)
