Good post Disnardo! And there is some question as to whether the 2 INT's which were returned for majors were entirely his fault.

Exactly, and heres why.

The pick during the Titans game which was returned for a touchdown was supposidly because RB Lamar Gordon, who had been in Miami a day or two, ran a route he was used to in St. Louis but was different in Miami. I'm not laying the blame ENTIRELY on him, but thats something to consider. Gordon even admitted it.

The pick returned for a TD against the Bengals was miscommunication by Feeley and Chambers. Feeley thought he was going right, and Chambers went left.

All the offense has to do is get in sync, and Feeley has to realize he doesn't have to force things, unless it's downfield - he can force all the deep balls he wants IMO. :D

chambers said that pick was his fault. as for this thread its too soon to judge give each guy at least 6 games

Hey, I brought this point up in the other AJ thread and didn't create a new topic, didn't know someone would turn it into a thread. Oh well, at least more will see AJ and Rick both look good so far.

AJ is a gamer. He is inexperienced and that is going to show when your running back is new to the tune of 8 days in the system, in his second start he will have 5 new starters on the o-line from last year, the # 2 receiver has been here 3 weeks. It is one thing for people to come and say other new and young qbs looked better than AJ has, but they do not account for these facts that AJ has. I am sorry if that sounds like an excuse, but it is facts. There is absolutely NO DOUBT that AJ needs to make better decisions, but what exactly has he done that isnt correctable? Gotta admit the mistakes dont rattle him, Madison in his face doesnt rattle him, he comes back and continues to fight. Those are things that lead me to believe he can learn.

Unlike most people posting here, I think Feeley is the least of this team's worries......or at the very least, far down the list.

Like I stated in another thread, AJ's stats last week would have been looked at pretty favorably if they were Fiedler's last year. AJ looks great to me so far, considering what he is up against and his lack of experience. Next year, he is going to be an animal!

Which is why, for better or for worse this year, we need to let the kid play. He needs to get that game experience under his belt. His career path looks eerily similar to Hasselback, and look what he's doing in Seattle.

Speaking of next year, if we don't spend all of our draft picks on linemen, we're crazy. Offensive and defensive. With Boston coming back, our offense is going to have all the skill players we need. I'd go Guard, Tackle, Center, Defensive tackle with our first 4 picks.

I do think AJ deserves his spot more than Fiedler, but I do remember some dangerous throws by Feeley during the Cincy game. He definitely needs to work on his decision making.

Here's the thing. You are never going to have a competent offense by making your quarterback so afraid of mistakes that he could stick a lump of coal up his butt and crap out a diamond. That's one of our flaws offensively. We spend too much time telling people to not make a mistake that we don't focus on doing the things that make big plays.

The difference between a great throw and a stupid throw is inches. An example. Take the pass that Carson Palmer made to Chad Johnson earlier in the game. Sam Madison had great coverage and great positioning on Johnson. If Palmer throws that ball less than an inch behind the receiver, then Madison picks that pass off.

Another example. AJ's first pick. It was actually a good decision and a bad throw. Marty Booker had the inside position, and Feeley threw it slightly behind him. It was tipped and intercepted. An inch the other way, and that is a first down and a great throw.

I don't want my quarterback to be a robot out there who is so afraid to make a mistake that all he does is throw short passes and take sacks. I want to see a QB that has confidence in his arm and is willing to make the big throws that win games.

Im not as concerned about the passes that were picked off as I am about the passes that were nearly picked off. The lob to McMike in the flat (where McMike had to play DB and knock it down) was a horrible decision. I like the fact that he's confident and willing to try to create something... but he has to temper the superman attitude with a little common sense. Hopefully time and some intense coaching will take care of the problem.

I think that can be chalked up as inexperience. Once he gets a few games under his belt, better decision-making will follow.
