If we can get the right QB, this will help our defense. Remember a good QB can keep drives alive and keep the oposing team's defense on the field. This would have been a big help this year. Also getting rid of Reggie Howard will help greatly. What do you guys think?

It would also help our running game, as if it needed help. We should've gotten Ty Law instead of Howard.

I'm not sold on getting rid of Howard. If Sam really is gone (and I think he is given his comments), it makes a degree of sense to think that it is being done because Nick sees something in Howard he thinks is okay enough to keep him (hopefully at a discount). I'm frustrated with his play as a Dolphin just like everybody else here, but I'm willing to let Nick do what he does best and make strategic moves.

The right QB you're speaking of is named Jon Kitna if you ask me. I'm growing convinced that Kitna plus Croyle on the second day is the answer. That 40+ yard perfect throw BC had into double coverage just cemented it in my mind.

I think a great QB can help our D especially considering they are going to be one of the oldest in the NFL next year but I think a new corner (perhaps pool) will help and if Manny keeps on improving we will be dangerous.

I mentioned something similar earlier in the season when Reggie Howard played very good at the starting CB position as opposed to the nickelback. I could see your scenario and would be totally OK with it as I tend to trust Nick Saban's decisions until it he undisputedly proves he made a mistake.

Reggie Howard looked WAY more comfortable playing the starting CB rather than the nickel CB. I am sure Sam could make the switch easily. Would we be better off with that scenario?

Sam is a terrible nickel corner as well. Daniels is the only guy who can play the slot.

I'd rather keep Sam than overpaid Howard. At least we get some value from Sam. There's a reason Howard's no longer the starter. Saban probably has had it with him enough to put a rookie at that spot. If Reggie insists on keeping his salary the way it is, I say we dump him or trade him. He's not worth it.

Wow, thanks for telling us something we didn't know.

Was that really necessary? This thread may not have told us anything astounding but why do we have to jibe our own fanbase?

I'm sorry man but at no point during his brief Dolphin stay has howard played very good. Not in the old defense nor the current one.

You really think that Croyle'll still be there after day 1?I think he could be going in the 3rd round but I won't be surprised if Nick draft a QB on the 2nd day.I'm starting to think that he'll take a LT and 2 guys on defence with our top 3 picks.

Ozzy rules!!
