Stephen Ross and Carl Peterson are really good friends and Peterson was actually at our game today. Peterson is the one who brought Cowher into the league and they are good friends and stay in contact, Peterson was actually the one who placed the call to Cowher last year and talked to him about coming back and coaching the Phins, we already know that the phins are on Cowher's list of 3 teams he would coach along with the Giants and Texans. Start off by firing sparano and let Nolan coach for the rest of the season, then when the season ends fire Ireland, brian gaines, and whoever else in that front office that contributed to this mess. Then hire Carl Peterson as VP of football operations and have him place the call to Bill Cowher and hire him as head coach. Mortenson and Peter King both said that wherever Cowher goes he will probably pluck somebody from the Steelers organization to be his GM and my guess is it would be Kevin Colbert who worked with Cowher in Pitt and actually was a scout for the Phins, so he has some familiarity down here. Then we let these guys put together the college and pro scouting department and get to work and hopefully this would bring the structure and direction this franchise so desperately needs. This team has talent but it just needs direction and a FRANCHISE QB!! and we can't deny that we are now in the Luck sweepstakes because we have to go to SD next week and play the Jets in NY after that so we could be staring right at 0-5!!! Carl Peterson VP of football Operations, Bill Cowher Head Coach, Kevin Colbert GM, Andrew Luck QB!!!

well first off, cowher made it clear he wasnt ever going to coach under boss ross.

he was the most vocal in his distaste for the harbaugh fiasco saying it was classless and he could never work in an organization who would do a coach like that.

BILL COWHER IS NEVER COMING TO MIAMI!! not as long as ross is the owner, so all the talk of him coming here is nil.

CARL PETERSON scares the hell out of me. if he comes on board as GM it will be wanny/sparano regimes all over as peterson is an OLD, OLD, OLD school run first, and run again and pass ONLY if your rb's are hurt guy. you think parcells and wanny and sparano are conservative? peterson is so conservative he would make comy/liberal michael moore look like the second coming of ronald reagan!!

if peterson gets the job you can kiss this franchise goodbye. the last 4 regimes have taken their toll and its showing in the stadium seats. when people bring in close friends like jimmy did wanny, parcells did sparano, you get into trouble as people dont want to fire close friends. there decision making gets cloudy with emotions and sentiment.

we need a GM that has a track record of selecting REAL talent in the draft, one who knows what free agency is about.

we need a head coach who actually knows the x's and o's and knows which players belong on the field and the ones who dont. a coach who knows how to develope young talent, who knows how to use the talent he has. a coach who lives in the modern day nfl.

bring in an offensive coordinator who is fluent and well studied in a proven philosophy, like the west coast offense and know the players needed to fit that system.

and of course, a FRANCHISE QUATERBACK!!

we get those 4 things together, expecially the 1st one, and this team will rise again.if we dont......................... start saving up for your LOS ANGELES DOLPHINS jersey!! [or the disapearance of the whole organization like the houston oilers]
 
What makes Carl Peterson so bad compare to what we are seeing right now.

even though peterson is friends with cowher, he voiced his displeasure of the way ross does buisness after the harbaugh thing this past off season. he could have had the job then. he didnt want to work for ross and he wont.

and as i said above, i dont want peterson any where near this team, for reasons i layed out in my above post.

ANDREW LUCK? we would have to have the number one selection. both the cheifs and jaguars as well as the rams have qb's they have spent big on and would trade out of their spot to make BANK on whoever wants luck. and i dont think we will have the ammo to do it, even from the number 4 or 5 spot.

a bright young gm and jeff fisher appeal to me. i would like cowher but he isnt coming here. fisher did a whole lot with a whole bunch of bad decions by the titans brass.

KEVIN COLBERT, JEFF FISHER. thats a good looking package right there.

i thought i layed that out in my post.


the point is to IMPROVE, get better, hire coaching that is leaps and bounds better than what we have.

peterson is every bit as bad as what we have with sparano. and he could be worse. he drove the cheifs into the ground and they are still trying to recover!! been there, done that. finz need to stay away from the oldy, moldy run bunch.

ross needs to get a round table of CURRENT gm's and nfl people with some dolphins alum like marino and make the right moves. get some names in the hat, get a good list of the bright assistants and ready for prime time young gm candidates and start cleaning house. leave out the has beens and relatives and college buddies.
 
Peterson was part of the push to get Harbough which at least suggests he can identify a good coach to move for
