The Sad State of the Dolphin Fans

You can't generalize all Dolphins fan and act like you're the only Dolphin fan that sees thing different. Obviously by my sig I'm a Henne supporter but I don't support other fans of the same team thinking their better because they have a different outlook on something.

I never thought I would hope for anything against the Dolphins. But after watching how pathetic our fan base is and all the "loyal" fans rip apart and boo Henne last year and this year after calling him a god when Pennington went down, I really hope we cut/trade Henne and he turns out to be a stud for someone and it becomes a move we all really regret.

It is one thing to want to improve, but just flat out be bashing a guy because he isn't god within a year and a half of starting on a medicore team that handcuffed him with terrible playcalling is sad. Honestly the people in the stands and the ones on here that just kill this kid should be ashamed of themselves. And ANYONE who feels you can evaluate a QB WELL in the sample size we have seen from Henne is an idiot. He might be as terrible as you want him to be, he might be a decent starter in this league, but it takes more time to be able to really see what you have. For every bad stat he has we can find plenty of All Stars and HOF players that had equal stats to him. For every "he makes bad choices" "forces the ball" "checkdowns to much" "locks on a WR" or whatever else we cry about, there was fans saying the same stuff about the Mannings and Rivers and Brees and every other star that has gone trough this league.

The sad part of all this is I never realized how dumb the average Dolphin fan on here and in real life are. I always thought Jets fans were total morons because of how fast they crowned the next king of the world on there team only to rip them apart at the first small hole. Mindless idiots who just follow the crowd. Its amazing how much worse the fans of this franchise have become. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we have become a losing franchise or maybe we have always just had loser fans who just hopped on board because "Dan Marino is so good". Most of us Dolphin fans are a disgrace and the rest of us should be embarrassed to call ourselves fans.

Guy, you're just realizing the nature of fans. When you're winning, everything is hunky dory and the fans are intelligent and awesome for rooting for their winning team. When you lose, all of the sudden do the same fans become jerks? Fans are a fickle bunch, that's reality.

As for booing chad, I can understand it cause its frustration. Even though I didn't take part in it, I'm technically part of a fanbase that cheered when chad pennington got hurt during a game. Not a proud moment for jets fans or for human beings in general. But you know what? Every single team in every sport has an example of this at some point in there history. Even the yankees booed derek jeter!

If you want to disconnect yourself from the reality that is fandom, i suggest you really like you're team, don't love them. Reserve your love and devotion for more important things in life and you'll never be driven to the brink that some dolphin fans apparently have been...

As much as I agree with much of your sentiments about booing our own guys... this is just bull****. There's just way too much of this garbage on this board already. Cheer on the team. I believe also it was wrong the way the fans reacted but let's face it those fans are putting food on the table for all of those players with tickets, an merchandise purchases. Tony and Jeff set all of this up when they went and tried to get Orton here in Miami and the deal fell through. isn't it the same thing Ross did to Sparano? Did you see how he was looking at that presser. he wasn't too happy that he got thrown under the bus. Henne is an average Qb with an average skill set and the fans was booing because he still can't wide open receivers even in practice.

Your way of supporting your team is by wishing a player leaves and becomes a star elsewhere. I hate Chad Henne. It think he ****ing blows. However, I'll still be rooting for him as he ****s our season straight to hell. I just realize that he is complete garbage. I, however, am not going to root for him to be a star on another team, because I support the Dolphins. Hoping the Dolphins lose a star player isn't something I would think a "true fan" would do, but I won't judge you as a fan because you're rooting for the team to lose a star player. I think fans are fans, not good or bad. We just are.

I completely get where you are coming from erralyn. I am just a bigger fan of what is right than i am a Dolphin fan. I support this team, hate when they lose and cheer when they win, however I have and will always agree with what I feel is right in life over a game. How this kid has been treated is terrible and I hope he gets what he deserves as a person over what I feel I deserve as a fan. IF he turns out to be great(which I won't argue he is or isn't) his loyalty to this fan base will be shot. If he does become great he will leave here at the first sight of bigger dollars and why shouldn't he. We as a team and fan base have showed him no suppport or loyalty. We have showed him it is all about what have you done for me lately and as soon as you fall a step short, you are dead to us. Flip that and as soon as we can't offer more than the next team we are dead. Support this team and it's players. Some I don't like at all some I love but I cheer for anyone that steps on this field as a player for us. Booing our starting QB is a sad sad thing.

We all want these guys to pour there heart onto that field for us, yet we give some of them none of ours. Seems a bit one sided here.

Did you just compare Chad to Tom Brady? The difference is the second that brady touched the field in New England when bledsoe got hurt, all he did was win football games. Same thing with young. Those two HAD IT, and they had if from Day 1 at game time.

henne has proven he does not, and over throwing and under throwing receivers consistently in practice this year prove it. Henning is gone and he still does not have it. The one smart thing parcels said, was if they dont bite as pups they wont bite.
