The Seahawks are letting Marcus Trufant Flirt with FA

If we get someone like Trufant in FA, then it would free up some space in the Draft to get a TE, DL, or LB in the 2nd/3rd round of the draft. If not I like the idea of picking up a CB in the 2nd round, and maybe getting help on the DL through FA.
 
He would be worth a relatively large contract, as long as it wasn't ridiculous money. How old is he?
 
I'am really not interested in bringing in any free agents just because of their names, i would rather find and groom our own unless were sure that the free agent wants to be here FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS and has the mental makeup to play in this town.

I know we need a few but i don't wanna break the bank on anyone, we've been burned to many times by so called name players that come here and use us for the money and the relaxed scene.
 
If his asking price is below the outrageous contract that SF gave Nate Clements im all for bringing him in. I think we should invest a bit in our secondary, we would have a very formidable corner duo with Trufant and W. Allen, and as long as J. Allen continues to improve on his play, we could have a pretty good pass defense next year. Trufant IS worth going after him, we just have to be careful with how much we spend, we have FAR too many holes to break the bank on one player. Signing Trufant would give us more options heading into the draft, where i would still take a flyer on a safety or corner in the late rounds.
 
I don't care how much money it takes. This guy would be a much bigger pickup then Chad Johnson or any other FA out there.
 
Hopefully Bill Parcells can convince him to sign for less than what he demands....simply be convincing him that we may be ready to make a run for the big game in the next year or so.
 
All proven players will cost a lot of money. If you want the guy you're going to have to dish out the cash.
