Now that the 2009-2010 season has came to an end... and after seeing the heart and desire by the Saints players and coaching staff... How many years away are we?

IMO... There is no light at the end of the tunnel.. The Dolphins are doomed to mediocrity until we can get a coaching staff that not only knows the game, but can instill heart and a winners attitude..

I was impressed with the spirit and desire of New Orleans today, they truly came to win... This is an attitude I havent seen with the Fins since 1973 and if we stay on course.. It may take another 37 years to be good enough to win the Super Bowl..

Trust me they no the game they just seem like they want to take there time for gettin help for Henne

Winning the SB takes a great deal of skill and luck. Just getting there does too. I think we're still a ways off yet.

You have your opinion but coaching is what we lack...
I don't agree with that one bit. Sean Payton made one of the dumbest calls in SB history with that onside kick, showing desperation and a lack of confidence in his defense. He got lucky with a recovery and it will be glossed over.
Players win in the NFL. Period.

with no more SB talk, i guess we should start talking about how we should trade our 6th round pick and Ted Ginn for Peyton Manning. HAHA

Dumbest? I thought it was a balls out call. He came out and let his team try to make a play straight from halftime. Fact is, S. Peyton and his team played a great game. They did what most didn't think they could do, WIN!

It takes a team to win a SB. Offense, Defense and Special Teams. The Saints won on all fronts tonight. And that was due to the faith their coach had in his players, in all phases.:tongue2:

I know this is a bit irelevant but all i could think about durring the SB was this

Absolute balls of steel on that call.

That onside kick Payton made was just an aggressive call. He's not a conservative coach, and there's no place to be conservative at the biggest stage of the season. I really liked that call, it threw the Colts off balance, their defense was not prepared to get on the field, they were game planning for an offensive possession in the locker room.

Exactly!

While the Saints came out prepared and ready to attack...from the very start, the kickoff!

6 Plays is what Manning got to run in the 2nd qt. The rest of the time that Colts D was on the field. That call was anything but dumb!

You are only looking at the onside kick as a good call because they recovered it. They were only down 10-6 at that point and didn't need an onside kick.
Credit the Saints they were the better team and deserved to win, my point is that call gets Sparano absolutely destroyed on this board if he makes it. The OP said the Fins are far off because of coaching, but Sean Payton won the game because his players executed and helped to turn a bad onside kick call into a smart, agressive call by recovering the kick. They don't recover and Payton gets questioned no doubt.

All I hurd from the saints players was how they had to do it for their city. They seemed more motivated from that then the coaches IMO. I don't believe u can make champions over night. Takes time and luck in some cases. Maybe us as fans need to motivate them more so they can do it for our city.
