I was at the bar watching the Lions and Dolphins games with my buddy (a Fins fan). I noticed a lot of you are blaming Harrington for the two picks. The first one was definitely his fault and a forced pass.

However, the second INT, while thrown behind the receiver (and tipped up for an INT by Welker), was the only play. If any of you were watching the game, you noticed that CBS showed a replay after the INT with the camera perspective above and behind Harrington. If he throws the ball anywhere but behind Welker, you'd see that it would have been tipped or picked. It was the only throw he could make. He was hoping Welker would make a nice catch and instead the worst possible outcome happened. So really, you can't fault Harrington for that one.

On to the arguments over who should start. My Fins fan buddy said he felt a lot more comfortable with harrington at QB...the outcome just didn't work out with his first start being after a half week of practice against a top 5 NFL team on the road.

Hey...at least you aren't the Lions.

IOno man, I saw the replays . . . it was a bad pass, and tho Welker would have been amazing to make the catch its seemed like the ball coulda still been INT'ed if Welker doesn't even tip it. Not to mention Joey was stuck on Wes the whole time on that play . . . a tipped pass for an INT happened in the cleveland-carolna game with northcutt . . . this one was more of a bad pass tipped for an INT that probably would have gotten INTed anyways if Welker doens't tip it.

Welker would have had a much better chance of catching the ball if it was right on him. Why are you guys trying to convince yourselves that that was a good pass. If Daunte makes the same pass, you guys would have been screaming about how much he sucks. And as far as being more comfortable with Harrington? Why would you be more comfortable with a guy who threw 2 picks that led to 2 scores vs. a guy who the last time he was on the field led a the team to 2 scores to erase a 11pt halftime deficit. I know, He got sacked right.

Joey had to get rid of it as he was being chased down...the pass was behind Welker......Wes probably should have let it go but he tried to make a great catch and it bounced off his hands. I don't blame Wes or Joey. They were trying hard out there....wish the rest of the team tried as hard.

Hey man - tough game today. Hard giving up 23 unanswered points to the Vikings, Jon Kitna is racking up yardage under the Martz System but I still think Mike Martz would take back Joey in a heartbeat. Remember before JH decided to leave Motown how Martz was getting very excited after he'd watched game film of Harrington...

I saw on a replay of the Lions Vikings game today - it appeared like Kitna did almost a direct handoff of the ball to a Vike defender who promptly ran it back for a score. Felt bad for Jesus Jonny on that one. :boohoo:

yea when daunte is under pressure and takes a sack u guys are acting crazy, but Joey is under pressure and throws a pick . . "he was trying hard". I know I'm being picky, but part of Pep taking sacks was not to make bad passes like the 2 Joey had and all fairness to daunte, he hasn't thrown a pick in 2 and a half games. Throw in the fact that Joey got the best game from the OLine.

Tha ball was inaccurate, causing Wes Welker to reach back for it, tipping the ball in the air so it could be intercepted.

Why was the ball intercepted? Because it was tipped.

Why was the ball tipped? Because it was behind the reciever.

Why was it behind the reciever? Because Joey threw an inaccurate pass.

It was a ****ty throw, plain and simple. Joey appologists are HILARIOUS. This is beginning to remind me of "Feeley vs. Fiedler".

If Daunte threw that pass there would be 1,000 threads calling for his head. Quit having a ****ing double standard, all of you.

Can't say it any clearer than that, but hey at least Harrington was trying to complete the pass as oppose to that other guy who isn't trying to complete a pass.:rolleyes2

Im not going to blame QBs on tipped balls. The first was Joeys all the way.

A majority of the time I'd agree....not in this instance though. It was a simple crossing pattern, I don't care who it is, if the guy can't throw that ball on the money he gets fault for the INT.

Not even if the tip is a direct result of an inaccurate throw? Wow.

Wes Welker should have caught the pass. It wasn't Joey's fault. IF that ball would have been caught, noone would have ever mention the ball that was slightly behind Welker. QBs throws balls behind recievers all the time. Recievers have to make plays too. Catches like that are what recievers get paid for. I guarantee if you ask Welker, he'd say he should have caught that pass.

I agree. Not every pass is going to be between the numbers. The ball hit Welker in the hands and he should have caught it. The guy who intercepted the ball didn't seem to have trouble (it was behind HIM, too). Nine times out of ten Welker makes that catch.
