This came to mind from the other thread on the "best" play.

I'll offer my opinion -

The same game as what I think is the best play (the 49 yard Csonka run) ...

The Yepremian blocked FG and subsequent INT. Making the final score 14-7.

Just think how utterly perfect the season would have been had Yepremian made that kick! The final score in that 17-0 perfect season? 17-0! The perfect score for the perfect season. No way, especially with the score 17-0, would the Redskins have scored.

Btw, this is a statistic that most people don't think about but I believe is significant. To my recollection the Dolphins are the only defense in NFL history to shutout the opponent's offense in the SB (the only points coming on a turnover).

it was pretty recent...

jay fiedler's pass in buffalo...from inside his own ten threw it right to takeo spikes for an easy TD...

How about worst series of plays

December a few years back, you have Ricky Williams and a late 4th quarter lead, unfortunatly you also have Dave Pornstache as your head coach, so what do you do? Why throw the ball of course

The wort IMO was when we were playing the Jets and Fiedler threw a WR screen to I believe McKnight who bobbles it around into the hands of Aaron Glenn who ofcourse takes it to the house.........

And how about Mcknight letting that pass at the 4yd line bounce off his chest into a Ravens players hands to conserve a playoff win for Balt. in 02...

And pretty much ANY play that involved the worst Fin ever..Ray fkin Lucas:fire:

Stabler to Clarence Davis, divisional playoffs '74. IMO, nothing else remotely close.

The alltime what-if play is Bokamper aggressively catching the tipped pass from Theismann in the '82 Super Bowl.

I think it was 2 years ago, in New England. Backed up near our goal line, Fiedler throws an easy pick 6 directly to Tedy Brusci. The Patsies fans go nuts, and start throwing snowballs up in the air; It was quite a sight. I think there was a blizzard a day before or something, the stadium was still full of snow. I think that might have been when Patsies fans beat up a school teacher who was a Phin fan.

Hands down Garo's failed attempt at passing in the SB.

Garo gets my vote. Not only was the play atrocious and put the outcome of the game temporarily in doubt, :fire: but comical  as well (however, it wasn't funny at the time). :shakeno:

Worst game, midnight miracle, worst play, pick any one of them from that game.

The OT loss vs. the Patriots a couple years ago, where Brady threw the long pass that went for almost 100 yards to win. That really mad me :fire: .

Wrong on all fronts!

Yes, 17-0 would have been better than 14-7, but a super bowl was still won and an undefeated season still happened.

The WORST play ever was when Joe Theismann stepped into Kim Bokamper and knocked a sure TD out of his hands (yes, on defense) in the fourth quarter of SB XVII in Pasadena. It's a play that would have put Miami up 24-13 instead of keeping it at 17-13 after the knockdown. Down 11, Washington would have been more inclined to pass rather than run the ball with John Riggins. Instead, they did just that, knowing that a TD would give them the lead. They scored and tacked on a late one to win 27-17. Different game with a different complexion if it's 24-13 Miami!

Yes, that ONE play cost Miami title # 3, which we're still looking for.

But hey, THANKS FOR REMINDING ME! :fire:

Easy when fiedler didn't know how to throw into the wind and the ball went a ile high in the sky and came back like a boomerang and someone on buffalo intercepted. It was snow game of maybe 03 or 02, can't remember. The most I've ever laughed in my life.

Any play that COSTS you a SUPER BOWL, is immediately your worst play ever.

He didn't say most comical or worst designed play. To me, anything that cost you a championship goes to the head of the line.

There have been so many... where to start, where to start?
Clarance Davis' dynasty killing catch in the '74 playoffs?
Theisman's Super Bowl saving swat of Kimbo's INT for TD?
John Smith's snow plow FG?
Marino's achilles injury play?
Jumbo Elliot's TD in the Monday night miracle?
Any play called by Wanny during the team's Run-Run-Pass years?

Burning, was that the final play of the game when Stabler just tossed it up hoping for a miracle? Yeah, that one goes in there too! :fire:
