Wow, we lost to a team that spent a king's ransom bringing in free agents for 1 shot at glory (but we still almost beat them if not for a jump ball)

Gosh, Pennington didn't beat Favre so maybe it's time to bring Henne in (although despite his limitations, yesterday CP was still one of our better players on the field)

Jeez, Long could have looked better (but sure the 1st game rook could have looked worse), so it just confirms we should have drafted the QB from the weak ACC instead, since he's right now on Ryan Leaf's winning track and just threw a long bomb against what's been little better than a sandlot team. (PS: wonder how Henne would have done against Detroit)

Awww, fire Sprarano: he doesn't know what he's doing, he's in over his head, despite that he did fine being at the base of a new learning curve, this is his first HC game ever and he's got a guy named Tuna to fall back on

Confirmed: Ginn's officially a bust: what can I say here??? Wonder if the Giants said that about Eli? Or conversely, look how elated Titans fans used to be over Vince Young his first season before the league found him out (see also "Matt Ryan"). As others here say, it takes several years to build a good WR.

Chicken Little has got NOTHING on some folks around here!! One game in for a young, inexperienced, gelling team whom no one except the myopians thought would end up 8-8 or better. I haven't seen anything yet to dissuade me from my 7-9 prediction which would be darn good considering the bowels of despair we're climbing out from.

In reality, the sky isn't falling.. it's fallen and now we're methodically picking up the pieces and patching them back into place. I see the half full glass where we played against what many consider a HOF QB on a well stocked for a playoff run team and despite miscues, mistakes, etc., yet still almost beat them.

I am very excited about the direction of this team. I know Parcells will straighten these problems out.

Nothing beats game experience. No matter how you try to do it with rookies they have too experience it. They have a very experienced OL and DL. We will be better but it takes time. We knew that going in. We weren't embarassed like alot of teams yesterday. We did have a chance too win, thats important. Watch the game film, and try too make corrections. We have alot of talent that just needs polishing.

Yep there is already a thread with that title:foundout:.

Dang u Vaark!! had to erase my whole reply after noticing your sarcasm .
good points though, too many people around here have gone mad over a game that imo, was very winnable and a great game.

A graphic from the only known fable with a character named "Henny Penny" in it, about a football team with two QBs named or nicknamed "Henne" and "Penny" and not one reference from you about that? That will cost you two demerits, and you can't use the car this weekend. :D

Otherwise, good post. I still saw a little bit more of Cam's Dolphins out there yesterday than I would have liked. I prefer this year's coaching staff to last year's, this year's roster to last year's, and this team's direction compared to last year's... but the play on the field, IMO, was no better than what we showed against the Ravens last year.

That the "culture is different" this year did not manifest itself on the field of play, and I think that's what some fans are reacting to even if they haven't phrased it like that. I wanted a younger, stronger, tougher, and smarter team than last year and I didn't really see it yesterday. Ok, we're younger. That said, I have much more confidence that we will improve over the weeks ahead than I did last year. I do hope that there are some positional shakeups before the Cardinals game. And I wouldn't be disappointed if they take Ginn off punt returns since he doesn't seem very interested in returning them.

Im excited about how our team preformed rookies looked great Chad looked good i think our line did a good job facing pressure they broke down here and there but what line doesnt. This team wont get better week by week BUT DAY BY DAY

The sky isn't falling the last time I checked. However, I did get to witness the Phinz stink it up yesterday.....

I have to disagree that it takes several years to become a "good" receiver. Either you have IT...or you don't.

I hate losing....

IN TUNA WE TRUST.....

Don't we all. Have patience....even with all the rookie mistakes....blown plays....lack of commitment to run the football... lame play calling....and total lack of receiver play...the Dolphins still played well enough to beat the Jets. We shouldn't be looking for many wins this season anyway...just improvement from game to game.

Good post. No worries. They wouldn't be fans if they (we) weren't emotionally tied and irrational. Happens after every game, regardless of outcome. The only difference is the direction of irrationality. We lose, we're the worst team on the planet and the sky is falling. We win, we're Super Bowl bound and the greatest team in the history of man. Usually lasts until about Tuesday before predictions for the next game start showing up, which always depend on the previous game. We lose, we're gonna get blown out. We win, we're gonna win by shut out.

In my head, while watching the game, I'm exactly the same way, totally irrational. I just try to control it a little better on here, and let the irrationality pass

We're all fans and we all want the same thing. Some are just a little less patient with the process.
