The Space Between...the season ending and the final pick in the draft.
That time in this forum....Finheaven.com....which we come to like 25 times a day during that time and reading posts about every free agent, every high priced player at every position that we need upgraded are coming to the Dolphins. IMO....we WILL go after a vet QB and we WILL sign one....Brees is at the top of my list. After that and remember this is NOT Madden, we may add 1-2 more mid priced free agents and a couple of bargins and then the draft. We wont be able to shore up every hole, we wont be able to sign Brees, Law, T.O. and anybody else the media or we can think of. I know we like to hope and speculate and right now thats all we can do but man reading some of these posts, its like some of you are on that island....in L O S T. (side note...imagine being on that island during football season...in fact...you crash during that first superbowl week...and the Dolphins are gonna play the Cowboys and you have no idea what happened and your just dying to get to that computer and look up Finheaven.com)
Ok, I am just saying, lets keep perspective and remember there still is a salary cap and we still are wayyyy over it right now. I know we will be under soon but who knows how under we can get. I just cant wait till the draft, cuz then most of the free agents will have signed and we can stop sittin on Santas lap...and wishin.

Damn that post had a little bit of everything....you can tell this is the offseason

I agree with you that some members are far fetched in what we will aqcuire this offseason. However, I think i speak for most when I say Saban exceeded expectations last offseason, so why not hope. SABAN IS SANTA!

your use of ellipses makes me want to die. So much so that I stopped reading what you were actually saying halfway through. My suggestion? Next time, write in a way we're all used to and comfortable reading. Then maybe your stuff will get read a bit more.

there, ellipses fixed

The point I thought was simple. In the last week or so, there has been threads on us getting about 20 top free agents and some people actually believe we could sign about 10 of them. It's getting crazy in here, and I just cant wait till about 3 weeks after free agency starts then most of all top free agents are signed and we can stop the insanity. Then we focus on the 2-3 free agents we did sign and the draft and THEN we can formulate what our team will look like on the field in 2006.

Your right, there are a thousand different expectations for what the dolphins should do, all of them seem, at this point, impropbable. I doubt with the emergence of Brees as a free agent that Saban will change his game plan that he's had from the start. In his head, he has the veteran he needs (Frerotte) and will likely pick up the young hot shot QB through the draft, addressing other offensive needs through free agency.

But hot damn, Brees or Culpepper is a tempting tomato. Even though they're both injured at the moment.

I would hope that he damn well would consider changing his game plan!

I seriously doubt that Saban would refuse to adapt his plans when new situations arise. C'mon now, think about it...
