Four coaches won more Super Bowls, but no one won more games and only George Halas coached in the NFL longer than Don Shula.

Add up Shula’s credentials and an impressive panel of 118 Hall of Famers, championship coaches and other experts put together by The Sporting News tabbed Shula the No. 5 coach in the history of sports - and second among NFL coaches to Green Bay Packers icon Vince Lombardi, who coached five championship teams in the ’60s.

A list of sports’ 50 greatest coaches of all-time will appear in this week’s TSN, with Shula No. 2 among the 10 NFL coaches who made the list.

(By the way, Bill Parcells is No. 33 on the list, which is below, and 10th among NFL coaches.)

If the Bear is 3rd then Paterno can't be as low as 13th but at least they stuck that punk Bowden 24th. yeah, i'm biased.

That list is a little nutty if you ask me. Since we're all biased, why is Chuck Daly ranked above Gregg Popovich?

St. Bobby is the greatest college football coach ever. Well, top 5 anyway. He should have retired 5 years ago but now he can't until he puts a championship team back on the field again. Bear, Joe-Pa, and Bobby truly are class acts and I think a lot of all of them but I graduated FSU so Bobby is the man!

As long as JoePa ends up with more wins than Bobby, it's all good.

Joe Paterno doesn't even coach anymore and hasn't in years. He's the biggest fraud in college football.
