The starters give up 17 to ATL in a quarter, get carved up by New England

The defense is no where near as good as we hoped it would be. I don't care that it was 1 game, a top 10 D never gets shredded like that. I am not just talking about yardage totals either. Brady had it way too easy. Receivers running wide open all night while Brady had forever to throw the ball. No pass rush and poor coverage does not equal a good defense.
 
The Pats should be concerned about their D as well. They didn't do **** against Henne. Our D looks like a problem, but I say wait to see how we play against the Texans. Schaub is not a joke at QB and he has weapons. If we get torched again, then I'd say that we just don't stand a chance with our schedule.

The FO just doesn't seem to look at this team as a whole. They see positions that need to be filled, and use stop gaps thinking that they are close to being Super Bowl bound and just need a little extra umph. I just don't see how if this team is not on the same page with each other, how they will be on the same page as great teams. The O, D, and ST all play separately from each other mentally. It is not a cohesive unit and the sides don't feed well off of each other. That stems from coaching and FO.

They should be concerned. Their defense is also not great. However a lot of Henne's yards came in the 4th when it was a 2 td game and they were playing a pseudo prevent D.

They can win a Super Bowl like that. High-scoring, dynamic offense that can either drive down the field on 3 plays, or keep punching you for long drives.

We, on the other hand, cannot even win 5 games getting no-huddled into oblivion. When your D cannot adjust, and is missing key components (pass rush, solid nickelback) then you're screwed.
 
Here were the issues with the defense in order of importance.

1. Bad play out of our free safety.
2. C. Wake failing to set the edge on running plays
3. Poor tackling especially from Sean Smith.
4. Conditioning
5. Poor angles
6. Depth at corner.
 
Why not just be worried about our own team and how ****ing terrible our defense played!?!

1 win in the last 12 home games including several blowouts, losing to the leagues 3 worst teams, a shutout, and several Primetime embarrassments, constantly beat by the leagues top tier teams, and a very average roster talent wise!
 
I like to think the D is fixable since we have the talent. We do have a pass rush. Misi, Starks, Soliai, Langford, McDaniel, and even Dansby all got to the QB multiple times last year. We just need leadership on D. Looked like nobody was running the show on Monday night. Hopefully bringing Will Allen back will add to the collective experience of the secondary.

I disagree with this. I agree these were issues, but here's my take:

-Pass rush. Non-existent. Brady had time to put on his Uggs one leg at a time back there
-Corners and safeties are interchangeable so I'll put them here. The coverage and physicality was disgusting
-Conditioning, started to show in the 2nd half
-Schemes were horrible, no adjustments
-Defensive audibles, hard with no-huddle but no one was communicating
-Personnel, hey they were bad but the injuries made it worse

You havent been reading the forum enough for the last 3 years if you dont know what WV's complaints about this team are. He constantly is stating the problems with this team and backing it up. (Much to the dismay of others)

Oh and our pass rush was PATHETIC. We need to do something about that ASAP.
