We ran Ireland out the hell out of town, but only because Ross doesn't know what the hell is going on. Need new ownership. We are going to be down to last night's scraps on candidates for all positions.

Well I don't totally agree and applaud him for finally sort of getting rid of Ireland but Huzienga for all of his failures would get whatever candidate he wanted almost every time.
We have went from decisive ownership that my have not totally succeeded to indecisive ownership who hasnt had a winning team in 5 years that seems to always be the bridesmaid on people they want

Listen, The man said 5 weeks ago or so the man was safe, then we lose two at the end, knocking us out, Philbin and Aponte then play blame game and send the man packing squeezing him out making everyone happy but not realizing how this looks to the rest of the league. They think everything would be hunky dory. So your right about the owner, but he has put his complete trust in a money person with no football knowledge and she is in the room all the time. So if anyone thinks we should clean house, you will have to wait a year. Joe and Tannehill will pay the price because of this.

So you wanted it and now you got it. Its called Karma. When you bag on a guy to no end and then people look at the big picture, it doesnt look inticing.

Im not sure firing Ireland has had any affect on people looking at job but keeping Philbin and possibly neutering the job actually did.
Lets not act like anyone is knocking down Ireland's door to be generl manager

I can agree with some of that.

I still contend he just should have fired them all.

Who ran Ireland out of town? The reality is Ireland ran HIMSELF out of town because he is a horrible GM. Kindly study the game of football, Free agency and drafts prior to posting for better accuracy in your posts.

Thanks.

Totally agree. We are in a wash rinse repeat cycle. Next year Philbin is gone and new GM has to accept whoever Ross chooses (Philbin was Ross choice, Ireland wanted Mccoy) and here we go again. We are out of sync.

Rest of the league couldnt understand why Ireland still had a job in the first place. They saw all the same results we did, and they are probably have more information then we do about all the grievances filed against him.

Any confusion other teams might have had about Ireland was undoubtedly cleared up when he did his "burn the bridge i just crossed" routine with Armando after we fired him. How many owners do you think appreciated that little act? Heres a hint:

I am starting to lean towards the OP ideas. Maybe all this mess is Ross' fault. He just doesn't know which direction to go

I don't believe this baloney. The Dolphins are following a model that MANY teams in the NFL are using.

My only problem us why haven't they interviewed experienced GMs. Then again, if my memory serves me correctly, they were only going to announce candidates they've interviewed if the agreed to have their names released. So it's not like they may not have.

Now, as far as the OC position goes. Yea that's going to be a tough sell. But what would be for anyone in Philbins situation. But again, I find it hard to believe this is unique in the NFL coaching world. Guys are hired to be fired.

Just the way it goes.

Would you want to work for an owner who publicly endorses you, then fires you, or gives out extensions, and then fires you? The guy is clueless when it comes to running a football team, with your business out in public. He went out and tried to hire a coach before he fired the one he had, then signed the old coach to an extension, which turned out to be a disaster. Fired that coach, but kept the inept gm. That turned out to be a disaster. Now "fires" the gm., but keeps the inept coach, who is forced to let go of his buddy. Now that coach is on the hot seat and any incoming OC knows it. This is a cluster F%*.
Look at it from outside Dolphin Land, it's a joke of an NFL franchise.

If only you knew the reason we never got Brees was Huzienga fault. He told Saban he was selling the team and did not want to pay Brees the money he demanded. It also lead to Saban telling Huzienga half way through the season he was leaving at the end of the season which was kept under wraps. Why do you thing Huzienga held the I love Nick press conference when he quit. Huzienga was a horrible owner and destroyed two sports teams in this town.

If anything, this is a reflection of Philbin. He's the one conducting the OC search. If a guy doesn't want a promotion to showcase his talents then do you think it reflects everyone?

Hardly. It reflects the head coach. I wouldn't be surprised if Philbin is also impacting the GM search.

The guy simply isn't a head coach. He doesn't have "IT".

I say hire Kubiak. If Philbin gets turfed during the season, then you have at least a suitable candidate for an interim role.
