The Stench You Smell is Ownership

Listen, The man said 5 weeks ago or so the man was safe, then we lose two at the end, knocking us out, Philbin and Aponte then play blame game and send the man packing squeezing him out making everyone happy but not realizing how this looks to the rest of the league. They think everything would be hunky dory. So your right about the owner, but he has put his complete trust in a money person with no football knowledge and she is in the room all the time. So if anyone thinks we should clean house, you will have to wait a year. Joe and Tannehill will pay the price because of this.

So you wanted it and now you got it. Its called Karma. When you bag on a guy to no end and then people look at the big picture, it doesnt look inticing.

I Agree, and to add to that he once told Philbin he is in charge of his coaches but then forces him to fire his OC.....the trust is so lacking that Ross had to publicly give the job description before anyone will interview with him...Ross has a history of undermining his employees and the good candidates are not willing to risk there reputations by coming here.....you don't take away responsibilities from someone who is not doing a good job or whose decisions you no longer value, you fire them...he did it to Sparano, now with Philbin and tried to do it will Ireland who refused....I don't expect this team to be much better until Ross sells the team, I hope I am wrong...

OC? Yeah, he screwed Philbin by making him a lame duck coach. But its still up to Philbin to land one of the guys hes interviewed. If Philbin gets them in a room he should be able to talk them into staying. He isnt. Thats alarming.

I think it's to be expected. Philbin may be entering into his last year as HC of the Dolphins. That's no secret. Not everyone is going to be willing to give up a more secure job on another team to take a job with the Fins that may only last less than a year at this point.

Bring in Xanders and that stench will be the fragrance of roses.

We ran Ireland out the hell out of town, but only because Ross doesn't know what the hell is going on. Need new ownership. We are going to be down to last night's scraps on candidates for all positions.

Here's another guy who jumped the gun. Time to eat that crow fella.

So i state that im alarmed by Philbin's apparent inability to close the deal and then we snatch a candidate right out from the Lions. Sounds about right

Obviously a moot point now, but still wanted to answer this post. With our owners public loyalty towards Philbin, id argue that a potential hires job is no more or less secure then the Giants OC position. While we have a lot of work to do on that side of the ball(id argue we need a complete overhaul), working with Tannehill would outweigh the risks. Every coach knows the quickest way to securing a head coaching job is to elevate the play of a quarterback. If our OC elevates Tannehill's game then he could be a head coach before Ross drops the hammer. Not to mention there is a shot that they can return for '15, both the Panthers and Jets hired new coordinators and secured their jobs another year through shrewd coaching.

Have you noticed that guys like you, me, Gonzo, and a few others, who have been very critical of Ross and the front office when they deserved it, are the ones that are complimenting Ross on the way he is conducting this search and the candidates he is interviewing?

The ironies of this forum are never lost upon me. Im still chuckling at the "real fans" reactions to Ireland's firing.

Totally agree. We are in a wash rinse repeat cycle. Next year Philbin is gone and new GM has to accept whoever Ross chooses (Philbin was Ross choice, Ireland wanted Mccoy) and here we go again. We are out of sync.

This.

Do you have $1.074 billion?

If not, what the hell are you talking about? The only way to get rid of an OWNER, is to buy the team.

These threads are silly.
