The Story of this Defense is this....

Nobody is saying the defense played bad or didnt play hard. They simply choked when it mattered. You can make excuses like they were tired, they were hurt, but the fact is they had been stopping them all night and when it mattered they failed.
Like the offense would have been able to do anything in overtime anyway.

This defense gave us a chance to win the game at the end. But because our Offensive line blows we had to settle for a mile long FG. Starting counting your chickens now because there is no way our D-fense will be able to do this all year long if our offense keeps going 3 and out.

The defense choked when it mattered??????

How bout the offense stunk up Cincy the entire game!!!!!!
To start throwing blame at our defense is idiotic. Their not
magicians; how many quarters are they supposed to hold
the fort down?

all they had to do was stop them from getting in FG range in 1:53. considering they had only allowed two FGs all game I think they should have been able to stop them. They let a QB starting his 2nd game drive it down the field when it mattered most. The offense didnt play well for the first 55 minutes but they still managed to tie it up.

It was simply a blown coverage. It wasnt like someone gave up a play. There was confusion cause Poole was out that play since he went down the play before. Simply someone didnt cover that man he was WIDE open.

I was so proud of the way the defense played - especially Zach and Jr. Too bad that they couldnt make the final stop when it mattered.

Im finding it hard to identify positives to discuss....note to self :"stay positive, stay positive, stay positive..." :(

Giving up the big play isn't such a big deal if the offense can put point on the board. You can have a probowl defense on the field and they will give up a big play or two. Thats football.

We (defensively of course) played, even with the injuries we had, phenominal. That being said, how many games can you guys remember where the exact circumstances occur:

We stop an opponent all day (night) long, only to need ONE STOP, and then fail to get it. Carson Palmer's completion % was "Fiedler-Like" for the majority of the game, Chad J& Rudi Johnson have done nothing the entire game.......

Yet when you need to make ONE PLAY, he is wide open. I am not blaming the D for this loss by any stretch, but this has been a trend which has bothered me for a long time.

Sorry, this D has been playing GREAT. I've jumped on them in the past, but with all the injuries they've suffered and the lack of offensive help I just cannot blame them right now, I can only praise them. They may be playing the BEST D I've ever seen them play.
