The suspense is killing me........

I'm not looking at that dec. 9 date as much more than the kind of spin a player in Jay's position needs to float out there in a situation like this.

He made a mistake saying he hoped to come back for Nov. 24. That optimism -- and Ray's continued weak play -- produced a surge of expectations that were probably unrealistic. Once he'd said that, fans would demand a Nov. 24 start or consider him a ***** even if he truly wasn't able to grip a ball.

If he points to Dec. 9 everybody hoping for his speedier return has those great expectations scaled down, -- then he tries his damnedest to make it back sooner.

It's really just a function of his physical recovery, but I'm guessing:

-- He'll be a longshot option on the 24th, coming in ONLY if Ray is stinkin up the joint but the D has kept us within 7 or 10 late in the 3rd quarter. (Yep, -- I think Ray will still be playing then. But don't yell at me about it.)

-- Jay comes back the following week even if they have to pound nails through that thumb to hold it on.

FYI--

MIAMI (AP) -- Miami Dolphins quarterback Jay Fiedler had the cast removed from his broken right thumb and it was placed in a splint Tuesday, allowing him to begin rehabilitation.
Fiedler won't start throwing yet, and he'll likely miss at least two more games, coach Dave Wannstedt said. He said Fiedler might return for the Dec. 1 game at Buffalo.

hopefully he's out another three to four weeks:D

Hey Cops what's up.. when Feidler comes back it's going to take him time to get into the groove with his recv'rs and his timing with the offense..

It is not going to get easier for the FISH, big win for us on Sunday Night !!!!!!!!!!

who could've ever thought the health of jay fielder would be the key to the afc east? the guy was turning into a very productive qb and his to's were way down. i do hope he's out for a couple more weeks (can anyone really fault me for that?). i do know that it'll take some time for him to regain his form once he does return. remember farve, warner, and vinny? they didn't look the same the whole season (warner hasn't recovered yet). they all came back too soon and had their worst stat season ever. of course my competitve nature wants every team to stay healthy to limit the excusses for final records, but we all know that's not going to happen. besides all i read here today is how all of you hope ray lewis can't comeback this week. how is that any different?

i wish all of you luck for the remaining season and i DO hope in some freakish way we can meet again in the playoffs with everyone healthy. it would be entertaining (to sa the very least.)
