Now we have a small taste of what it must be like to be a Jets fan, or a Bills fan - years and years of draught and lots of confusion and no sure way out of the mess.

This situation makes me appreciate Marino and Shula all that much more (and that's hard to do because I fully understood how great both men were while they did what they did).

What is so striking to me is how listless, lifeless, defeated, unenthusiastic (the term brewers droop) comes to mind. I have found that it has felt like I am watching the same game over and over and over again. Even when we were 4 and 12 with dumbstadt I did not feel like I was watching the same game over and over again. His final season the melt-down was comprehensive so we looked bad in all areas most of the time, but the way were beaten seemed to have a different flavor each week.

This team just beats itself!

Stupid penalties. Fumbles. Interceptions. Dropped interceptions by our team. Special teams break downs, including missed kicks, endless penalties after Wes makes a nice run.

I compare and contrast this to Saban's philosophy and the man that I think that he is. So he is trying to teach execution, discipline, technique, mindfulness of set and situation. Instead we have had trouble, big trouble in all afformentioned areas.

If I am to be optimistic (cause as of now that is all I got) I would say that this is simply part of the learning curve. Saban makes the learning curve steap so that when you arrive you really arrive! We can only hope and pray that this is the situation because if not we are really gonna know what it is like to a bills or jets fan and I simply cannot take that!
