All his succesful acquisitions to date simply don't matter (Bush, Wake, Pouncey, Long etc.) nor do his failures (white, Wilson, Columbo, failure to solidify the O-line etc.). Simply put he must fix the QB position. He has clearly failed there for 4 years. Because Ross believes in him he has another opportunity. Bottom line his success will depend directly on whether Matt Moore develops into a long term solution and/or he drafts a QB this year that shows promise. Collaterally whether Matt Flynn does well or not will add to his success/failure. In other words, if Matt Moore is average or worse and there is no rookie in place that is promising THIS YEAR he should be gone. I hope Matt Moore plays well but I am not optimistic. While he put up good numbers (mostly ealy in games) he was not an very good 4th quarter quarterback which is when you need your QB to step up. Hopefully, that will change.

People are really sleeping on the fact Garrard might actually end up being a sneaky good pickup while we develop our rookie QB. The guy took a WRless Jag team pretty far in the playoffs.

The things that will decide his fate are ticket sales and what the media write since that seems to be the main things that Ross is focused on.
He might also leave on his own. My money says he leaves on his own if they don't offer him more money.
Ross is really dragging Ireland's reputation through the mud. Ireland already wasn't the easiest guy to like after 88 whined to the press last year. I think he has done an above average job, but he is a little high and mighty. Parcells probably thought it was cute.

That's the problem, if ticket sales determine the fate we are doomed to never have a regime last more than 3 years. South Floridians are far too fickle to stand by a rebuilding team
The problem with Ross is that he is friends with Carl Peterson. He is part of this toxic brew including Ireland.

Promote some of the scouts under Ireland. There has to be a change.
IMHO, he needs to grab a proven excellent GM from another successful team. Pay them everything they ask. This is the type of move that Joe Robbie would pull off. Show some boldness and chutzpa.

The problem with Flynn is that Philbin and Ireland did not think he was better than Moore and wanted to pay him as such. Carrol on the other hand told him everything he wanted to hear. Ask some of the USC players and their families how that has worked out for them. Sometimes the truth hurts.
