Out of all the positive things said about him the thing that really impressed me was........ How last week he threw that INT that was returned for a TD, and he acted like it never happened!!! He didn't seem phased by that at all, A lot of QB's especially new QB's that are getting thrown in there in the 3rd quarter would have gotten flustered!!! AJ showed great poise, and confidence..........Very Tom Brady Like Maybe???

I like the way he led the team down for a score...i didnt see it but on radio it sounded confident and deliberate..
Im looking forward to seeing him play. The Oline is the deciding factor in the game. Cincy's Oline is in trouble... and I think we have more intangables.

One of the things I like about him is his fire, and excitement he brings to the team. I remember one first down he threw to McMike he threw his hand forward ****ed his head and screamed "Thats a First Down, COME ON!!!" I don't know if it pumped the players up but it pumped me up.

That energy has got to fire them up. If it doesn't, why are they even bothering to play. Let's hope it's infectious.

No quarterback wants to throw an INT especially not one that results in a score for the other team. However, the proof of that quarterback, to me, is exactly what you stated. The QB has to blow it off and show poise, confidence, and determination to do much better the next time. And to keep honing those skills. That is where AJ and JF differ the most.

Remember that game, long ago (I think '93 or '94) where Marino threw five int's in the dome in Minnesota? He got so mad at himself, and yet, he brought the team back by the end of the game, mostly in the fourth quarter (yes, Wannstedt, TD's can be scored in the third and fourth quarter...imagine that!). That's the kind of mindset I want a qb to have. They may not have Marino's talent (ever again) but they can sure as heck have that mindset!

Awesome post, its not your mistakes that hurt, its how your react to them that do. Jay was never excited.

:roflmao: me too.....

A.J has a lot to prove. He could've easily thrown 2 picks against Tennessee as well if he played the whole game. He SHOULD be able to lead this team to a W against Cinncinati. But even if he has a great game, it won't prove a lot yet... because I think even Fiedler would have a great game against Cincinnati. I don't want Fiedler or Feeley getting pulled... I just want 1 starting QB whoever that may be. Tennessee I think would've crushed both QB's if either one of them started the whole game. And I think both QB's will do pretty well against Cincinnati. We don't know if Feeley is the kind of QB who will throw 3 picks or turn the ball over 3 or more times against great defenses. So even if he has a great game against Cincinnati... still has a lot to prove.

I liked his play against Tennessee second half with the exception of the INT TD.. But I really think he would've played just as bad as Fiedler if he started the whole game against Tennessee.

Feeley remained cool, I liked that, and was VERY IMPRESSED with his CONFIDENCE...

Maybe he does still have a lot to prove.....but he should be able to prove one way or another whether he is a starting calibre QB over the next 4 years. After all, thats the timeframe that was given to Fiedler. Fair is fair.

Everybody needs to stick with AJ, even if he doesn't have a great game against Cincy. Hopefully the coaching staff realizes this. I maintain that it may take him a few games to get acclimated. We just need to hover around .500 until halfway through the season, then AJ can hopefully kick it in, ala Delhomme. This year may be refreshing, i.e. starting poorly and finishing strong, and just maybe have some mo heading into the playoffs.

He also might have thrown for 2 more touchdown passes.
