This is the Media. This is ESPN...always drama, misinformation, etc...its textbook. You all must believe everything on FOX News too, don't you? Lol...

So while you all jump up and down with excitement or cry and moan - its because they wanted you to!!!!! Think about that.
Its like propaganda...mind control. The media has blown up every new location Peyton has gone to as the landing spot, the front runner...naturally since he ended his tour in TENN people are saying they are the favorites...but I beg you to look at ONLY the facts and ignore all the media BS.

What facts do we know? The only information that can be easily validated is the time, place, and length of the conversations Peyton had with each team. Is everything else misinformation? If we only look at these details though, of course, we won't determine everything...

So lets look at his actions...I believe these are always the best indicators of things. It may not give us the answer we all want, but if we analyze things such as this we can dig to find the truth rather than what people want us to hear. SO....heres one action I'd like to analyze:

ACTION:

*He met and toured all team facilities, met the coaches, and the brass of each team...all but one - Us. --WHY!?!?

Possibilities
: 50/50 chance (my opinion)

#1 - Peyton Mannings interest was minute and he informed us, just as he did with other teams ( Jets, Seahawks), that he would not be paying us a visit.

(If this were the case - then either Ross didn't want to take "No" for an answer, or he wanted to ensure the the fans see that we tried hard for him, and as a political media move, he sent our rookie head coach up there for a courtesy talk with peyton, on his time, in Indy.)

OR

#2 - Manning has been at the facility before, he wanted to skip all the formalities of meeting with the owner, brass, etc. because he can do that after he signs. He wanted to talk FOOTBALL - X's and O's with our rookie head coach because he needed to know if they could be on the same page.

(If this were the case, then he would have already been leaning heavily on Miami, as was once reported at the beginning, and he went on the MEGA-MEDIA TOUR to see if any team could change his mind. Peyton Manning is the greatest FA ...EVER...to think this would happen without a media frenzy is ignorance. So he also did this to please the HIGH UP's - the people who OWN all major media outlets, by being their subject of conversation NONSTOP for DAYS....)

So which is it...WHY did Peyton not visit our facility and our brass if he was genuinely interested? At several times we've been the favorites for very obvious reasons...but he didn't even give us the time of day? There must be a reason....I believe its because he had already been leaning heavily on choosing Miami, and he decided he didn't want to go through all the motions with the team since he would have to do it all at another time anyway...but I have no evidence to support my opinion :(

By trying to use a little deductive logic, lets continue to analyze this action, as well as others, and see if we can find the truth!

I don't think anyone is freaking out about Manning. There's just a dull acceptance of reality. Just like most people weren't shocked about Marshall. We expect this kind of stuff at this point.

It's a matter of information and new events.

First once he was announced out of Colts, he moved into Miami and as owner expressed wishing him, the dots connected Manning with Dolphins.
Unrealistic as media created a stressful mess with helicopters and a thousand cameras, that avoided Dolphins to get better communication with him.
So once he started to visit NFL teams, he moved West to see John Elway in Denver and even they didn't put a contract in front of him, it was clear that a high payment would be needed in order Peyton could wear their uniform.
A day later he flied to Arizona, and his mind was clear that they have great installations, great offensive pieces, but they lack of cap space to sign him now.
Then a quick travel to Indy and the reunion with the Dolphins exposed they are willing to delay their WCO implementation to create an offense ideal for him, but again cap space looks like a limitation.
Then Tennessee emerged as a contender as owner claims they want to hire him for life, moved his contacts and even Governor got involved on welcome him.

During his visit to Titans, Denver contacted Peyton's agent offering a lucrative 80M/4 years deal. Tennessee could pair to it, and Broncos can go to 100M. This communication is still going so the 2 horse race is going.

So the thing is Miami has never been a realistic option for Manning, but they want to make a final bid to attract him even knowing there are better offers for him.

MexDolfan,

Thanks for his itinerary...the only thing I got from your post is you believe that the Manning/Phinbin meeting in INDY took place there because of the helicopter chase and media madness that happened in Miami...which is a definite possibility...but if he had genuine interest in our team - wouldn't he give us the same tour, etc. as he did with the other teams? I don't think that is the reason, just a coincidence.

Hell NFL Network was showing crazed fans outside where Manning as meeting w/ TEN brass with signs saying they want him and the media was just as big in ARI/DEN/TEN as it as when he showed up in Florida. Its a BS excuse.

Don't you guys think that they also have crazy people that chase after Peyton?? I don't think that is the reason, but a coincidence.
Yes. The chase and the fact Dolphins wanted to handle things different.

They wanted to show they are flexible to whatever he needs to deal with his recovery.

Why? Well Peyton could move into South Florida, pick a limo and reunite with Dolphins FO in club's installations, but instead they asked him about a discrete place where he could be comfortable to talk about their project.

So what youre saying then...is Peyton had plans to go to Miami and tour their facility, meet their owner and brass, etc. but since the DOLPHINS wanted to keep it hush hush and professional, he decided to let them come up to Indy and skip all that other stuff?? Cuz with what you're saying...you're either saying Manning never had any intention to come to FL, period, or that he skipped his trip because Miami wanted to handle it differently...

So they're saying were out of the Manning hunt...because we scheduled a meeting with Flynn? I think if we were OUT of the Manning hunt...we would have known DAYS AGO - like when he met with us. Not now, he didnt just finish his tours and ccall us up personally just to let US KNOW that he eliminated us already...sure its possible we said we wanted an answer and he told them to go ahead and move on, but until I hear it from his mouth I aint going to believe anything.

The media took a story -that were flying in Flynn tomorrow - and ran with it - like they always do - thats why i started this thread to begin with - to enlighten some of you that don't realize what the media does.

Ive always liked peyton manning but him snubbing the dolphins puts a bad taste in my

I agree. Its BS.

Seriously, at least meet with team officials here like you have everywhere else.

Talk about looking desperate and needy.

I swear I would've rather taken the 'political' hit and told him its either here (in Davie where we could talk and show you around) or nowhere and gotten rejected than to give in and meet him up in Indy.

But that is exactly what our owner is - desperate about his image. If Manning had no intention on choosing Miami, then he was doing US a FAVOR by letting us come up there and "LOOK" like we were having serious talks with him.

The hipothesis that Manning didn't visit cause he knew all he needed to know about us and loved us contradicts all experience. FAs always visit with the teams that sign them. However, I don't think Manning snubbed us. I think we were never really ready to compete with big bucks for Manning. Had he wanted to sign on the cheap, fine, we'd have him. But we weren't willing to readjust the roster the way we would have had to to fit a huge offer under the cap. So it's not really a lie that we didn't want Manning, we just didn't want him bad enough.

The Marshall trade further confirms that this regime plans to take it easy and build the team the way Philbin wants it to be.

Sure, the way Philbin wants it built, but, that doesn't mean that were RE-building. I dont think Manning is going to come down to money...hes going to go wherever he wants to go,

I don't see Peyton not going down to Miami because we weren't offering him the money he was looking for, we never even got to contract talks, right? ...but its an idea.

We know next to nothing as to what he is thinking or what his intentions are.

WE DON'T KNOW

THE MEDIA DOESN'T KNOW

Why drive yourself crazy over this? Obviously the propaganda you speak of is getting to you.

You said yourself we know very little, I see no point in assuming this is what Philbin means by doing this, and Ross did this because of that, and Manning didn't come here because of _______ .

You're just adding to all of it by wasting this forums space.

My opinion: Manning already learned everything he needed to know while he was down there in Miami just after his release from the Colts (he is already familiar with the facility). Why would he go leave and visit all those teams just to fly back to Miami? Logistics. We went and met up with him in Indy as a last ditch effort, and it didn't work. Mort has just reported that Jim Jensen (number 11, you youngsters probably haven't heard of him) has just agreed to a QB contract haha!
