1. Consistent O-line play. The OL must begin to gel and play well. This is where it starts for the offense. There is no running game without it and the QB will be terribly inconsistent if he does not have confidence to stand in the pocket. Given what happened last year, I think it is possible they will come around.

2. Daunte Settles Down. He has to play with confidence in the system, in the WR's and start making good decisions. This past game he really hurt the team with his shaky play. He has to see the field better and be patient.

3. Defensive Coordination. We have to put pressure on the QB and get more guys in the backfield on running plays. This defensive scheme is about disrupting the offense, making them think about what we are doing. I think we start out too vanilla. We need to start out in odd formations and keep the offense thinking throughout. JT needs to be put in the right position to free himself to make big plays. There are some playmakers on the D, but they have to be given the best position to do so.

If these three things come around - we'll be alright b/c we have the rest of the package.

I agree with your first point. On Daunte. I think the team has to start scheming for our olines ineffectiveness.. call more hot routes to help him out. And a no brainer.. run the damn ball.. it's the one thing we do consistently.

As for our defense.. we actually playing very well....i just think our blitzes are wasted, and ineffective. Ive seen a few blitzers take themselves right out of plays... Maybe blitz less.. let the line penetrate.. and drop our lbs back... do what buffalo did to us.. make the qb hold onto the ball longer than they want.

Good points but I think Nick has been working on all of these things since training camp. This is an entirely new OL. It will take a few games for them to gel. Now having Anderson out dosn't help things.Ronnie pretty well considering the lack of holes he had to run through. As for Culpepper, he has to adjust the way he plays Quarterback. He is used to running around and he still thinks he can do that. He CAN"T!!
Dan Marino said on his radio program that he had to adjust his game to fit his injuries. He wasn't the same QB after that Achilles injury. He was still successful but had to adjust. Just my thoughts...:cooldude:

Ronnie Brown ran the ball well in the buffalo game. It is shocking Mularky only called his number 2 times in the second half. What is that all about? We should have pounded the ball until RB broke a big one. That would have taken pressure off Culpepper and maybe he would have gotten his act together sooner.

Whatever we can do to start generating some TURNOVERS!

This is what I was saying the whole second half. Ronnie was running well the whole game, and if he got the ball 20+ times he would have broke out for a big one. 4.7 yards/carry you have to get him the ball more.

That does need to happen. He also did great on pass receiving. I think he needs to be used more in that area as well.
