DAVIE — Leonte Carroo may start for the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at Baltimore, and if he does, the rookie wide receiver says he’ll be ready.

Carroo caught his first career touchdown pass last Sunday. And the key to his success in that game was simple.
He knew what he was doing.
“It’s been a humbling experience,” Carroo, with three catches in 11 games, said of this season.
When Kenny Stills became ill in a game against the Jets last month, Carroo played 33 snaps, but did not have a catch.
“That game I can honestly say I wasn’t as prepared,” Carroo said. “You just kind of get into a flow of the season that you just expect that you’re pretty much not going to play. That game helped me realize that I’m actually one injury away from being out there. So I started to prepare a lot better.”
DeVante Parker has a back injury and has missed three consecutive practices. The Dolphins are preparing to play without him. One reason Carroo (3rd round, 86th overall) has had a slow adjustment to the NFL is that he has had to learn all three receiver positions.
“You can be in any spot at any time, rather than college, where you just pretty much line up at your position,” Carroo said.

Draft weekend he was interviewed up here on local radio in NYC. The hosts (can't remember who they were) were Giants guys. Anyway, he was a great interview - engaging, smart and funny. The hosts were having a blast with him and said something like "let's hope the G-men pick you". I never had heard of him before that day. A physical WR against the Ravens D might actually help us move the sticks and in the RZ this week.

Landry and Caroo should block for Stills on a screen. That might actually be successful

I'd lose my **** if he had 2 TDs this weekend.
Especially if he carried a few of those purple pricks into the end zone with him like Mark Bavaro!

Even with understanding coverage he seems to have no burst out there,
After going he doesnt look slow but no extra gear at anytime

i actually have a gut feeling if parker can't go this kid is going to make a big play for us. just a feeling but i think hes going to step up

The kid has balls and will not be afraid to start. He is extremely physical. I've been watching him since Rutgers and he should do well for us.

No need to send him deep, short routes all day with YAC afterward.

He is a move the chains player like Landry. In this game, running the ball and intermediate throws are the game plan with our banged up oline. Carroo will be knocking the DBs around getting his YAC.
I like the physical blend of our WRs

This is what he was able to do against the #6 ranked team in the country.

We're now back at to having five starters, or at least to the extent we can be given the injury and unreliability of Pouncey.

I would like to see him do a charles clay vs the chargers on them.

Caroo has great hands and has a powerful catch and a powerful run. But, he creates no separation in the NFL and he doesn't have the length or jumping ability that Parker has ... so separation is needed. Against a zone or loose coverage he will be very good. But, if he has an athletic guy providing close coverage ... Tannehill needs a perfect throw. IMHO, Caroo is one of those guys like Anquan Boldin, where its risky to throw to him, but if you are inch-perfect, he will prove very sure-handed. Against a lax coverage team he will look great. Against a good CB with tight coverage ... very risky.

Everyone saying he doesnt create separation in the NFL...how do you know this? the 50 snaps he has played? Not exactly what you would call a large sample size to make that assessment...

He's also a rookie.
