Thats right here is my list and its the only one that is real ndi m right haha, im jus playin but here is my list feel free to add urs.

1. Jason Taylor- He is constantly double or triple blocked, still gets double digit sacks and is top threat vs the run, despite people thinking he is a pass rusher only.

2. Dwight Freeney- Is a gret pass rusher and always seems to make huge plays

3. Julius Peppers- gets good sack totals and also makes big plays. Very solid vs the run.

4. Simeon Rice- consistently off the chart sack totals, really wreaks havoc on LTs.

5. Michael Strahan- He is an oldie but goodie. He plays so well and o yea has the single season sack record.

Now i think there are a few guys that can be mixed and matched from 6 to 10.

Bertrand Berry- Very good pass rusher and is very versetile on the line.

Derrick Burgess- League Leader in sacks last year, although he hasn't had a good season aside from last year, you can't argue against the raining sack king.

Richard Seymour- He is one of if not the best run defending DEs in the league. Has the ability to shut down an entire side of the line.

Jon Abraham- extremley one dimmensional but has great success vs the pass

Osi Umenyiora- Hs great pass rushing skills, but he definitly benefits from playing along side Strahan.

Missed the Cut

Jevon Kearse- The Freak, well not so much any more. He isnt that much of an imposing threat.

Adewale Ogunleye- a very good player, but hasn't matched his Miami Production:dolphins:

those might all be the top 10.. but i think your out of your mind if you think Taylor is better than peppers or freeney.. I'd have to say JT is a top 5 but definetly not first overall

i like aylor better than freeney b/c freeney is to much of a pass rush and thats it. he is nasty at what he does.

:bry: JT's better than Peppers by a mile (he's probably the most overrated DE in the league)... and he's as good or better than Freeney... sans the hype both JP and DF receive.

i think Freeney is hands down the best DE in the league. JT is a more all-around player, but Freeney is absolutely DOMINANT game-in-game-out regardless of how much attention is thrown his way. There are games where JT is largely unheard from.

I think Freeney is one of the more overrated players in the league. He is a great pass rusher, no question. He almost always does his spin move but if they can't stop it why should he stop doing it on an obvoius pass play. But the problem is that he does it even on obvious running plays as he did vs. Pittsburgh in the playoffs. He is not very good against the run and he doesn't play very smart. Maybe he would be great under a X's and O's coach like Saban, but I wouldn't take the 'Dungy' Freeney.

Freeny is #1. Peppers is #2. JT is #3

I agree with most of your post. I have the misfortune of watching alot of Colts games due to my wife being a fan. Freeney is a one dimensional DE; however he is absolutely dominant (as you posted) against the pass. I guess what I take issue with is that he would be different, or play "smarter" with Saban. I just have the utmost respect for Dungy and his ability as a defensive mind. IMO Peppers is the best of the 3.

ok here are some stats we all lvoe stats

Taylor- 73 Tackles, 12 Sacks, 10 Passes Defended, 4 Forced Fumbles, 1 saftey, 1 TD

Freeney- 35 Tackles, 11 Scks, 0 TDs, 3 Passes Defended, 6 FF, 0 safteys

Peppers- 50 Tackles,10.5 sacks,0 TDs, 0 FF, 7 PDs, 0 safteys

so taylor had the most sacks, most tackles,2nd most forced fumbles, most TDs, most safteys, most passes defended.

Seems to me he is the best and he is like 7 years older than both

How is a one dimensional player #1? Its called DEFENSIVE END not sack guy; there is more to a DE than sacks.

Last year..............JT..........DF
Sacks...................12.........11
Tackles.................73.........35

Excluding sacks Freeney only had 24 tackles, not even double the sparingly used David Bowens (13). That's absolutely pathetic. No one who's run support is so poor should ever be considered a top DE.

A lot of plays don't go to his side. I agree with what you said but I think it's necessary to say that many teams would rather run the ball the other way.

I'll take Peppers. I never seen him stripping the ball from teammates for stats or crying like a baby when he is suppose to be the leader of a team instead of finger pointing.
