Everyone of us have made a lot of comments, complaints, speculations, and statements. Most of them are noise that just is not the problem. There are four reasons we consistently loose:
  1. Inability to consistently convert within the red zone.
  2. Inability to generate a turn over on defense.
  3. Very poor play from the FS position.
  4. Inability to convert on third downs.

When we won the division in 2008, we converted in the red zone, converted third downs, and generated turn overs. The primary responsible party is Ireland. Sparano has contributed by poor talent evaluation of current players and demonstrating an inability to improve talent through coaching, but I still place primary responsibility on Ireland.

I agree with Ireland being a problem. Sparano is just as big though. No player development in his 4 years. He doesn't like someone he basically replaces them instead of trying to coach them up. How many O-lineman have we gone through? Granted the talent evaluation by Ireland has sucked at many positions and his affinity for all things Cowboys is sickening. It seems 95% of our free agents were Cowboys at some point so you have to wonder exactly how much talent evaluation is going on and how much is just signing someone because you're "familiar with them" as Ireland likes to say.

There is no doubt in my mind this team is underachieving which falls on Sparano. There is also no doubt in my mind that the makeup of the team isn't where it should be 4 years into a regimes tenure which falls squarely on Ireland's shoulders.

I think Ireland is a big issue. I think this team worries too much about saving money. We have no depth, and make contract saving moves all the time. As a fan don't we want the best possible players out there and our team right at the cap? Funny thing is many folks here worry about keeping younger, cheaper guys then we see what we paid for when they are called into action, not pretty.

We did these in 2008 because we got a gift from the Jets and played the weakest schedule in the NFL.

They don't save money. They mismanage it by wasting it on crap.

We dont have the luxury of sitting inside the coaches meetings, therefore we dont know who says what and who has the final say so.. But I have a feeling Coach T is dictating his authority and the assistant coaches are left dumbfounded...
