The Truth about A.J.'s Performance

Don't give me the "im a dolphin fan' blah blah blah...

I'm not giving you a damned thing.

Jay played like poop,

If that's the standard, why didn't we fire the entire defense for the Philly game?

and if you did watch or pay attention to the preseason AJ played better.

Says you. We know what the stats said, and Jay frankly looked better in the time I saw him against the Redskins (AJ needs to learn that leading CC into Taylor is bad and leads to bad things). That was my one chance to see preseason action for myself. What really worries me is that AJ seemed clearly shaken by the event I mentioned because he looked like crap after it happened.

You sir are pigheaded, can't you see where it got Wanny?

We don't make personal attacks here. Even if I accept your characterization, there are also successful pigheaded people. Strangely, successful people never really get described with negative adjectives. Wanny would just be strong willed if he had won a SB.

Jay pretty much cost us the game. Defense was on the field way too much.

That is absurd. Jay clearly played poorly, but he left the game with the score 7-0. That is a very winnable situation. The defense on the field argument carries no weight seeing as how they had halftime to recover and regroup. If you want to say Jay cost us the game, you have to say that AJ cost us the game since his INT did lead to a second TD or that Mare cost us the game with his miss. The truth of the matter is that the three of them along with the rest of the team has to shoulder this one. They're a team, and they lost today as a team.

so ok, I'M FOR FEELEY NOW, let him play he stil threw an int, let him work out his O, we'll see in 5 weeks. the D WILL STILL succeed. feeley will still be a little bettet then fiedler and we'll all still be bitching about it.

YOU PEOPLE NEED TO GIVE THIS ARUGMENT UP

Fallacy two: Jay knows the system

What system? Chan's system? It's gone. See Atlanta. Norv's system? It's gone. See Oakland. Collier's system? He's back to coaching our RB. Our OC is a brand new coach who came from the Colts. Last time I checked, Jay didn't play for the Colts. Even if the terminology is the same, taking the two years (NOT FOUR) of experience with the Norv terminology into battle isn't really anything given the fact that this team was all about running Ricky during Norv's tenure. That option disappeared if you haven't already noticed.

WRONG! Wanny handpicked Foerster to come in and continue what Collier was doing, which is Norv's playbook. IT WAS TOO LATE TO CHANGE OFFENSES at that point, so Dave (probably at Wayne's direction to avoid a perception of rebuilding,) overlooked Trestman and Sullivan and got Foerster.

Same playbook, different playcaller. HEAVILY FAVORS JAY.

all i say is we know what fiedler brings and AJ cant be much worse, so with feely we'd be getting either the same crap, or something better, why not take that chance?

Half the practice time with the 1st string and pre season games was wasted on Jay Fiedler when we all knew what he was , is , and will be..... A back up qb. How far would Feeley be along right now with all that practice time was devoted to getting him ready to start? Now that would have been in the best interest of winning. They said Rick and Dave looked at every tape of Feeley and agreed he was the guy we needed, so if that is true, there should have been no competition. Fiedler should have been released in the off-season or at the very least took a severe pay cut and told he would be the back up, which is what he truley is. Dave has shoved this guy down our throats for 5 years now and is still giving him every last freaking chance he can to prove himself and he has. He has proved himself to be an inconsistent, mediocre qb, with a weak arm, who can't throw downfield and is progressively getting worse by the year, week, game and quarter. Dave, we know your a homer, but it is time to see what Feeley can do so we know if we need too find a starting qb going into next offseason. By Jay Fiedlers own addmission he has struggled in a lot of games at the start, that should tell you something right there.... You can't have a starter who consistently starts games off bad and hope his play gets better. Wake Up Dave !!!!!! Time for a new era to begin, be the reason for it, or be gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off JJ is an objective fan and an informed one, so please stop the condescending tone. JJ dont need me to defend him, but he is attacked for saying he supports the team and coach? Boy he really must be stupid to support his team!?!?

I listened to the beginning and end, my son had a baseball game (fall ball), all i know is AJ got a td and was moving the ball when time ran out. Jay went 3 and out both series he was in. AJ gives us a better chance to go downfield. Aj looked better to alot of people during preseason, as far as his ability, he needs to play, he shows better potential. Jay had 4 years in teh system, was put in favorable situations. Look at NO game, he plys 2 plays after the defense sets him up at the 14, throws 2 passes and get a td, one to Booker was good but also a good catch. thats it, he gets the job. Wanny says because he played better. Really, 2 passes are enough when all he had to do was go 14 yds? Conservative Wanny went with what he knew becuase AJ didnthave a reactionary grip on the offense, he may not still. There may be growing pains, but considering this year there is no expectations, is it not better to get them outof the way? Jay isnt cutting it, 5 for 13? Now I hate stats as an argument, but that completion % is bad. like CC said we need to go downfield more, who is better suited for that?

Aj Proved he is a better Qb on game day. I do not fault him for not being able to wi this game. i do fault Jay for giveing the ball to Tenn over and over. The time to change is now! Thank god even Wanny got sick of Jay yesterday!

My only take on this is that AJ was brought in to be a starter... everyone knows it. Some may notlike it...but its widely understood that the Feeley is the future. So my point is... and has been... why wasnt it just stated earlier that AJ was to start. He could've gotten the reps he needed.. and gotten comfortable with the players and vice versa. UI will make one comment though.. I would've left fiedler in the whole game. We now look like idiots.. or Dave does. And then let Feeley start next week. That would've been a classier move.. but Dave looks like a coach panicking... hmm Deja Vu of Chicago?.. And onnce again.. play calling... Ive been gettingflack for mentioning it over and over.. but Dave's major flaw is playcalling more than anything...IMO. Obviously Chambers knew it.....So we'll see.... Dave.. ise what your have... and not force your philosophy... I guess thats the difference between the Tuna in Big D.. and and our head tuna...:(

I never jump ship.. ever... ill watch the last seconds of every game... whether we up by 40 or down by 40....
people venting about yesterdays performance has nothingto do with bandwagonning....... its about the hurting of watching our beloved team SUCK!..
At Least SUCK yesterday.... so yes im gonna vent... and im going to feel some solace that others feel like i do... so next week .. when i don my jersey on sunday night... a crisp cold beer in hand... I can sit in front of my TV and get pumped about the prospects of this team showing their potential.. which they aren't right now.... for now....in my world.. i live in a Dolphin Nation!

Great post canadiafhishfan spoken like a true blue dolfan. I myself is a fiedler basher and hater since season one, but I have to admit that the dave should have stuck with ears at least till the end of the 3rd quarter or even for the whole game, because knowing "ears" he'll probably throw 2 or more interception, and most likely injure one of our receivers due to his famous lobs, lol. But the point Im making here is that being the headcoach you should give the team stability, and Dave has not done that since the start of preseason with his inablilty to name a starter, and with Dave pulling Jay out with the half not even over only states that he was not sold with Jay 100% to start for his team. So why even start him in the first place? Its a pity that Aj has lost all that time during preseason sharing snaps with a BACK UP, chemistry and timing is important to be a successful qb in the nfl, and Aj not getting sufficient reps and preparation for the Titans game again only proves my point that "ears" should have endured the whole game. I was praying that Aj doesnt get injured because this was a done game. IMO

I have not made my mind up yet concerning A.J. Fiedler or Jay Feeley or whatever #7's name is. But this is the 100% objective, unbiased truth of A.J.'s performance today. He has played significantly in about 13 games since high school, is 26 years old, and has had to share much needed time with Jay since minicamp. He was named the backup this week and took about 20% of the snaps in practice this week, compared to 80% that Jay had. He was throwing to a guy who has been here all of two days, one who has been here two weeks, and the rest of the receivers he has worked with for only 50% of the time since minicamps. Not to mention he has a line blocking for him that consists of one proven decent starter, one cast-off, one who made his NFL debut, a center who is a first year starter, and a left tackle in his 2nd season who is about to be replace because of poor play. So....i think Mr. Feeley(i think thats right) did an admirable job coming off the bench unexpectedy against a perenial playoff team and a sure Super Bowl contender. Use your brain people....this guy could be great or be a goat....but dont you think the team deserves to know the truth? He should have been named the starter since training camp and been getting this practice time he and the first unit so desparetly need. This debacle must end now....and for God's sake please people.....dont write stupid comments about Feeley....you dont know what you are talking about. These are ALL facts. You cannot disagree with facts.

I stopped reading this thread right after this post.

QB Rankings for the gameFiedler 8.:roflmao:
Feely 78.5
McNair 101.3

I see a quarterback controversy with these numbers.:roflmao:
I'm glad Dave needs to sleep on it, so he can make the right choice:shakeno:
